VICTORY! Animal Justice lawsuit prompts changes to 3 penned dog hunting licences that appeared to permit illegal activities.
In this horrifying bloodsport, hunters release dogs to chase & maul foxes, rabbits, & coyotes trapped inside pens.
Through an access-to-information request, we uncovered that 3 licences appeared to allow competitions in pens too small to meet legal standards. After we exposed the violations & filed a lawsuit, the Ontario government amended the licences—an important step to ensure hunters follow the law.
