Yesterday was a rough day for us 💔
Please help us end the needless suffering for Community Cats! 🐈
Aaron has suffered for more than week. He was trapped and rushed to the vet along with Sparrow who was found at the same colony. Aaron's mouth was completely necrotic as well as his skin was degloved from his scalp and riddled with infection. The colony care takers tried reaching out for help but unfortunately where they are located, there are very limited resources. Luckily, K9 Rescue Outreach was contacted and our board member went over to the colony and was able to trap him. Unfortunately, Aaron's injuries were to severe and he was helped across the rainbow bridge this morning. Sparrow was riddled with fleas and had a horrible URI. He was placed on meds and provided flea meds. He was set up at the house where unfortunately he started crashing. Sparrow was rushed back to the vet where CPR and medical intervention was provided but he never recovered..
The colony care takers love these cats but they currently have over 100 due to no spay and neuter options available. K9 Rescue Outreach wants to change that immediately. The only way to help is provide alters to these cats so new babies are not born to the outside world and fighting among the males stops.
Each cat will cost us $30 to fix, provide rabies, and ear tip! We also want to provide food to the colony care takers to ensure none of these cats are going hungry. As you can imagine, the amount of food to actually ensure no cats are hungry in a colony of 100 is outstanding.

Sweet Ekon, whose name means "Strong", is a true little fighter!

We have an incredibly generous donor who will MATCH DONATIONS up to $1000 for Ekon between today and July 24th!
Sweet Ekon is doing so well after receiving emergency vet care over the weekend. For those who may have missed his story, he was found with his leg completely torn off of his little body. It was horrific. His initial bill was $1500, with an additional accrual of $200 through tomorrow morning. He will be undergoing an amputation this week which will be in addition to the $1700. We're looking at a bill of well over $2000... and he's worth every penny 🪙
We're absolutely astounded to have a donor who has offered to match all donations between now and next Sunday, July 24th, up to $1000. If we can meet this goal, his expenses will likely be covered and we will be able to say "YES!" to the next baby that needs us ❤️

Morning update: 02.27.22
Update from this morning:
Oreo is alert 🎉 No obvious spinal fractures, xrays showed air in the chest area but they were giving him O2 so that isn't unusual. As long as he stays as he is, they said next steps are to transfer for the leg fracture.

1230am update: Oreo was rushed back for triage. He has head trama, fractured jaw and fractured leg. The extent of the jaw and leg will be determined when they do full xrays. Right now the concern is the head trama. We are awaiting the next 24 hours to see if the swelling can go down to better determine his prognosis.
We will be posting the estimate in the morning! We paid $1800 tonight for the next 24 hours. Some will ask why? Our answer is we will always give every animal we come in contact with the best chance at quality of life and survival.
Let’s keep this boy in our thoughts and send positive vibes his way for the meds to work on the swelling. The vet staff understands that if he declines at anytime to ensure he is not suffering.

— Meet “Oreo” —
Oreo crawled up to a porch in Catawissa. Based on injuries shown, we believe he was hit by a car.
A board member is currently rushing out the door to go get this baby and head to AEC. From pictures and information, we believe his jaw is most likely broken and has a broken leg.
We do not have the funds but we will never let an animal suffer!
We need to raise funds and we need to raise them fast!
