Our Story
As the owner of Massachusetts Bernedoodles, LLC having an ethical, high quality breeding program has always been a passion of mine. Both the parents live in a doggie daycare type environment instead of a traditional kennel. They are well socialized, loved, playful and happy dogs! We are unique with our 24/7 live puppy cameras which customers have access to from the time the puppies are born until they come home at 8-9 weeks old! Bernedoodles take the best traits from the Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle to produce Bernedoodles! These puppies are healthy, well socialized and loved due to the MBD team! We produce friendly, loving, socialized, smart, loyal, adorable, non-shedding family.
Our Bernedoodle babies are adopted by pre-screened families (only) with an adoption contract. Making sure none of the MBD puppies ever end up in a shelter is a very important part of being a good breeder which is why the contract allows any owner to return a puppy/dog for any reason, at any time. We use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test to evaluate each puppies’ temperament which helps tremendously when choosing the right puppy for your family. Each puppy also comes with a health certificate from my licensed Veterinarian.
We health test all of the parents for the most common heritable diseases for their breed through PawPrint Genetics or GenSol. They are also OFA or PennHip certified for their hips and elbows. Therefore, the puppies are “clear by parentage” for the common health conditions associated with Bernese Mountain Dogs and Poodles. The mom’s have maximum of 4-5 litters in their lifetime before they retire from breeding. The “acceptable industry standard” is 9+ litters, however, I wouldn’t want to have 9 pregnancies so why would they? Once retired, we find loving homes for all of our parent dogs.
New for 2020! We will be introducing Aussiedoodles (Australian Shepherd x poodle) and Saint Berdoodles (Saint Bernard x poodle) beginning in the Summer 2020 time frame!
