Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital CRAH provides high-quality vet care, affordable pricing and unmatched customer service. We love your pets like they are our own. Our clinic cats, Mr.

Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital & Mobile Equine Services was founded by Dr. Ted Wright and Dr. Margee Moncure in order to provide high-quality veterinary care, affordable pricing and unmatched customer service to our patients and clients. Dr. Wright and Dr. Moncure separately practiced medicine in this area after graduating from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. S

everal years after reconnecting and recognizing their shared practice philosophies, they decided to start a clinic together and Cedar Ridge was opened in the Fall of 2012. They sought out and hired educated, experienced, and caring staff members who treat all patients as if they were their own. Cedar Ridge has an open door policy and welcomes you to stop by anytime to say hello. Tumnus and Audrey, would like to say hello, too!

Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a significant infectious disease that affects cats, leading to severe health issues. It is transmitted primarily through saliva, blood and other bodily fluids. The virus commonly causes anemia or lymphoma, but because it suppresses the immune system, it can also predispose cats to deadly infections. Exposure to infected cats raises your cat's risk of contracting FeLV, especially for kittens and young adult cats. For indoor-only cats, the risk of contracting FeLV is very low. Luckily we can help prevent FeLV with a vaccine! If you're interested in getting your feline friend the FeLV vaccine call 828-575-2430 to schedule!

As a reminder, starting 6/15/25, we will be happy to provide you with a written prescription for your pet's medications, but will no longer be interacting directly with outside pharmacies due to the rising staff costs of providing that service. Should you want to order your pet's medications online without having a written prescription, please order from our online pharmacy which can be found on our website.

Recent studies have found a correlation between grain-free dog diets and dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) which is a serious heart condition that can lead to heart failure. Many grain-free foods use peas, lentils, and potatoes as substitutes, which may interfere with your dog's heart health. While research is ongoing, vets are seeing more cases of DCM in breeds not typically prone to it, and diet is a growing concern. It's important to talk to your vet before switching diets, and choose foods backed by veterinary nutritionists.

Today we shine the spotlight on another vital member of the Cedar Ridge staff! Wee One is a special boy who was born without a paw on his back leg and has a chronic cloudy eye, even though he is a young adult. He has many jobs here at Cedar Ridge, including helping reception out with the phones, helping with the pharmacy inventory, and making sure everyone finishes their lunch. Wee One is definitely a shy boy but has been coming out of his shell a little more each day! We love you Wee!

Our Story

Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital has been offering high quality, compassionate vet care to your small animal family members since 2012. Our goal is to provide exceptional veterinary care, affordable pricing, and unmatched customer service to our patients and clients. Our staff is composed of educated, experienced, and caring members who treat all patients as if they were their own. Cedar Ridge has an open door policy and welcomes you to stop by anytime to say hello. Our clinic cats, Audrey and Rusty, would like to say hello, too!

We believe that it is our responsibility to give back to the community that supports us. We donate a percentage of our profits to local animal rescue and provide low-cost care for both small and large animal rescue groups. We believe that by giving back in a meaningful way with our time, money and services, we can enhance the lives of all animals and people in our area. We are proud to be the vet on record for several animal rescues. Additionally, we have donated to local schools and other non-profits.
