Finding Eddie

It’s been well over a year now since we’ve last seen Eddie. At one point, we were so close to his location that we were confident we’d catch him... but then he disappeared again.

We don’t know where he is now, how far he’s migrated, or if he’s even still with us.

Please share Eddie’s picture far and wide in Texas. If you see a stray that’s shown up within the last year that resembles Eddie, please reach out and send us a photo. Even if you aren’t sure.

At last!!! We have a confirmed Eddie sighting at the Stripes Gas Station in Dayton, TX! This is very close to the original Eddie sighting near Sonic back in November. There is a nearby trailer park with a few abandoned homes, which may be where Eddie is hanging out. But due to Eddie's fear of humans and because his feet and legs are all muddy, we think it is more likely he is traveling back and forth from 1960 which has more wooded areas for him to hide. If you live near this area, DO NOT CHASE! We are putting up feeding stations to see if we can get Eddie to regularly visit them. We are also trying to track his movements, so we can determine the best place to set up a trap and send out a tracker. If you see Eddie, please send us a photo so we can map his movements. Thanks for everyone's help in finding Eddie!

We are still desperately searching for Eddie. We haven’t had a sighting since February. Would anyone local help with Flyers so we can try to locate him? We are in Virginia so there’s no way we can set up any flyers. He was last seen hanging out around the sonic in Dayton, TX.

***Confirmed Eddie Sighting on February 25, 2020***

Eddie was spotted today by Global Tubing, which sits on 62 acres off Rolke Road in Dayton, TX. If you live near this area, DO NOT CHASE! The owners have feeding stations and we are hoping we can get Eddie to regularly visit them. If you see Eddie, please send us a photo so we can map his movements. Thanks for everyone's help in finding Eddie!

***January 27th, 2020 Sightings!***

Hopefully we are closing in on Eddie. We received another report that Eddie was spotted at 7:00 am yesterday on the rail road tracks headed into the adjacent field. There are drainage ditches that run between Stripes and the train tracks and the RV parks, which is how Eddie might be getting around (and getting all muddy).

No activity this morning and it is lightly raining, which could be keeping Eddie hunkered down. Do we have anyone local to this area that could help us "Eddie watch" in the morning over the next couple of weeks? Also, we are in need of a few volunteers to hand out flyers and talk to people at the RV parks and local businesses, as well as the construction crews that are starting to rehab the abandoned houses.

Again, please DO NOT CHASE! Just get out those cell phones and snap a few photos if you can. Our goal is to track Eddie's regular movements so we have a better chance of capturing him.

Possible Eddie sighting near Jose's Mexican Restaurant off 1960 and W. Clayton Street! Unfortunately the good samaritan was unable to get a good photo. Anyone local to the area who could set up a feeding station? Remember, do not chase as Eddie will only run. Our goal is to get him comfortable and settled in one area so we can work towards trapping him.

Last sighting on 11/25 in Dayton, TX. Eddie could be anywhere and I’m afraid we will never see him again.

UPDATE: Thanks to the good samaritan who went to take photos. The dog is but a female who is deceased. RIP sweet girl. 😭

Possible Eddie sighting! We need your help! Rt. 1960 headed south from Huffman to Atascocita, right after the bridge where the big Christmas display is set up. Dog was laying in a field on the left side of the road.
Can anyone headed in that direction get us some photos?

Keep sending in your photos and videos of possible Eddie sightings. This one was take in Onalaska, TX. After review, we believe this is . 😭 Location is about 68 miles from last confirmed sighting and we could not distinguish the curl at the end of his tail. ADDED TIP: Eddie escaped without his collar on.

Last unconfirmed sighting of Eddie was in Liberty, TX. Eddie escaped from his foster in Humble, TX in November 2019. We were able to catch him on camera at the Sonic in Dayton (confirmed sighting)! There have been several Eddie sightings in Liberty, TX but we have not been able to confirm yet. Please keep your eyes open for Eddie. Do not chase but snap a quick photo so we know we are on the right trail. Please report any possible Eddie sighting here or call 936-337-2432. Eddie has a distinct curl at the end of his tail and is an orange-ish/blonde color (photo was taken shortly after he escaped in Humble, TX).

Please spread the word! Eddie was LAST SEEN on November 25, 2019 in Dayton, TX 77535 walking near highway 90 towards Liberty, TX

Message from Owner: Please help us bring sweet Eddie home! He was rescued from the streets of south Texas in early November, but escaped his foster on 11/10/19 and he has eluded capture since. He is very cautious around people so he should not be approached. He is hours from his colony of two years, in a town he’s unfamiliar with, so is likely wandering.

Description: Cream colored/Tan GSD type dog. Avoids people but is friendly. Must not be approached or he will run off.

Friends, please don’t forget that our sweet Eddie is still missing. He has been outside in cold temperatures for several weeks with no reliable food and water source. He is far from his colony of two years in an area he is unfamiliar with. He needs your help!!
