Hundreds...yes 100s...of Lisianthus went in the ground last night because of the help from 2 sweet friends. We made it just as we lost daylight! There's lots of excitement over here as we anticipate seeing so many beautiful blooms this summer.

Sometimes it's hard to start something new because you need the right equipment, or time, or space, or ____. I'm finding that there are wonderful people willing to come alongside you if you reach out for help. A good friend of mine is always reminding me that it takes a village to raise our kids, and I think that applies to so many more aspects of life. By God's grace, we can encourage one another as we live the ups and downs of life vulnerably together and support each other. We have some fantastic friends & neighbors!

What a fun, wild ride of being able to catch our bees as they swarm and expand the apiary this spring. Hopefully they all settle in and thrive so we can process lots if yummy honey. We'll be planting lots of great plants for them to pollinate and enjoy this summer.

Water and electric are 100% done and now our greenhouse is fully functional!
We got a little germination chamber all set up and we seeded at our house for the first time tonight!
Rununculus corms are in the ground and we discovered tulips and garlic beginning to sprout.
Best of all, we connected together as we worked and several of us went inside tonight in a much lighter mood than when we started.

I grew up in Northern Wisconsin on a dairy farm, and I have so many fond memories of thoroughly enjoying a cold snowy winter with lots of great outdoor activities. Sledding will always be a favorite for me!
Since we never know if we'll get enough snow to sled in Southeast Ohio, or how long it will stay, we take full advantage of any opportunities. This afternoon was a beautiful time to sled together.

It's been a blustery week on our hilltop haven! I'm incredibly thankful for shelter in the storms.
Strong, persistent winds took down a beehive earlier this week, and we hope we've done enough to restore their home from the outside so they can survive the winter. They'll need to work hard to seal up their hive from the inside again. Like the bees, we need a safe and solid place for internal healing. Thus the haven portion of our name.
Haven: A place of safety and refuge. As we dream in many ways this year and set the foundational groundwork for several ideas, we pray God uses our little slice of this earth as an encouraging haven for the hurting, healing, and whole.
