Sasha has persevered!
She faced her demise for a second time: first the county shelter and then life-threatening bloat. She survived both with your help! It has been a team effort these past two days between sending PETs during a high risk surgery, the phenomenal emergency veterinarian care provided by VEG and donations to cover her life-saving expenses. Thanks to all who have helped Sasha!! 🙏
Here is the donate button if you would like to help her as well:

Update!
Our sweet girl has made it to her temporary foster home and is settling in great! As you can see from the video, the moment we took her out of the building, she knew she was leaving the shelter for her second chance at life!
This amazing girl is emaciated with her rib and hip bones showing, so her new foster mom is giving her small, very healthy meals. Her eyes are really bothering her so that’s the first item to address.
Stay tuned for more updates and an opportunity to donate to her $5 Friday tomorrow! All of your donations will help us cover her medical expenses! Her foster mom is going to sleep with her tonight to help her settle. Sweet dreams!💙🫶😴
Remember Coco who we rescued earlier this week? Well, it’s safe to say she’s settling in nicely 💙💙💙💙!!!
Meet Mr. Rogers!💙
This friendly boy was found as a stray with another dog and brought to Cobb County Animal Services by a good samaritan. His best friend was adopted into a home but Mr. Rogers was alone and overlooked by adopters due to his dark coloring and unique look. Any dark colored dog, sitting quietly in the back of their cage has a higher likelihood of being looked over by potential adopters.
When Camp O.P.P. met him, they knew we had to help this amazing boy. Despite his circumstances, he met everyone with his award winning smile and a happy-go-lucky attitude! When asked to describe Mr. Rogers, campers said, “He’s super cute! He loves to stick his tongue out! He loves to hang out with people and he lays down and lets people pet him.”
As soon as he was brought to OPP his loving and silly personality began to shine though! Now he greets every guest that comes into our facility with a big smile and some good kisses! You can feel his radiant personality when you meet him and even through the video below! He’s so happy to be at O.P.P. and he is so excited to find his forever home! 💙🫶🐶
Harry is such a happy guy! He knows sit, does great on a leash, and has the best personality! He’s been loving Camp O.P.P. this summer and the campers love spending time with him!💙🐶
Happy 4th of July! Vinnie dressed up nicely for the occasion💙😂😋
Come say hi to Roscoe at our Pet Adoption Event this Saturday from 1:00-5:00pm!! He can’t wait to show you just how perfect he really is!
Today was photo shoot day at Camp OPP! The theme of this week’s camp allows our campers to create their own imaginary rescue organizations. The campers experience the whole rescue process from intake to adoption and everything in between. Today, they styled their own photo shoots to showcase the pets who are looking for forever homes. After all, the pups need a great photo to catch the eye of a potential adopter. Stay tuned for the finished products!
Thanks for coming to Camp O.P.P. Week 1!
We can’t wait to see more smiling faces next week!💙😁
We received an urgent plea from Cobb County Animal Control for rescue of a young mom, with 6 newborn pups, who was scared and doing her best to protect her babies in a loud, unfamiliar shelter. Not only is a county shelter no place for young puppies, but in the short time our intake team was there, 3 more dogs were being surrendered to an already over captivity shelter. Upon meeting mom, she came right out to meet our team. Mom took turns going to each person for pets and proudly showed off her pups. Of course, our team knew we had to help so this little family will be headed back to our pet adoption facility tomorrow where they will be safe and cared for. Stay tuned!

If you saw our previous post, you know we saved a sweet pair today from Cobb County Animal Services. Well, not only did we save Hunter & Hayes, but also 4 of their friends for a total of 6! Here’s a glimpse of the first day of the rest of their lives 💙! We’ll be introducing them more formally over the coming days.
🩷🩷 WHO’S A GOOD GIRL??🩷🩷
Luna Oreo, that’s who! After a routine vet visit where Miss Luna was incredibly patient with all of the poking and prodding, she was rewarded with a shopping trip. So many choices for a new toy! Luna Oreo eventually settled on a toy giraffe and then showed off her perfect “sit” to the cashier for a treat. Luna is a fun girl who’s looking for her forever home. She’s a great medium size, loves toys and attention and has the best ears 🩷. Come meet her!
Here’s our soccer-playing girl, Paisley! As you can hear, she can hardly contain her excitement as she “dribbles” the ball around the yard. She only pauses for an instant to consider picking up her rope and then it’s right back to soccer ⚽️! If you’re looking for a FUN companion, Paisley’s your girl! Come meet her!
Guardians of the Galaxy Pups are ready for their debut today (Saturday)! We open at 1:00!
Training Tip Tuesday is brought to you by Charlie. When teaching your dog to stay, you want to take small steps away from your dog. Start with one small step back. Do that several times and when they show you that they can hold a stay position then move to two small steps. When they have conquered two small steps then move to three small steps. Continue to add one small step at a time when your dog is ready. We often want to progress at our pace and not our dog’s pace, which can lead to frustration from our dog and ourselves. Set your dog up for success by being patient and progressing on their timeline.
Check out Charlie nailing the cue for ‘Stay!’ He also loves to play ball! Check out the pics in the comments.
