Harmony received a special Christmas reunion today!❤️🎅🏼
Harmony was adopted by Ralph years ago. She adores Ralph!! It’s been over a year since Ralph was diagnosed with cancer and she was returned to O.P.P. temporarily while he recovered. Just before Harmony was to return home, Ralph fell and broke his hip. This recovery has been long prohibiting Harmony from returning home anytime soon.
For Christmas today, we reunited Ralph and Harmony so they could see each other. Her eyes immediately lit up when she saw him and tears came to Ralph’s eyes. Ralph gave her a Christmas gift, a brand new bone, that she happily took!
Though a short reunion, the time they had together will be cherished by both. ❤️🎅🏼🎄
Late Friday night, Our Pal’s Place received a phone call from one of our contacts at Cobb County Animal Services. Friday night calls from CCAS aren’t usually good news: they were out of space and multiple dogs would be of time come Saturday morning.
Our team was on the doorstep of CCAS first thing Saturday morning prepared to meet the most urgent dogs on the “kill list”. Joining forces with advocates at CCAS as well as other rescues, we were able to answer the plea: no dogs were euthanized on Saturday 💙!!
Here’s one of the precious lives saved. She was in danger due to nothing other than lack of space. Meet Priscilla ❤️
P.S. As mentioned above, it takes a team of all of us working together to save lives: adopting, sharing posts, donating, volunteering, spreading the word about pet overpopulation, etc. Priscilla thanks you for being on her team!
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday! 💙🐶
This year our residents need a new heating/air unit. We just found out our current unit is unusable. The lowest estimate for a new unit is $10,000 which is from our trusted Our Pal’s Place Daycare, Boarding & Training client's business. No doubt that’s the best option!
Now we need to raise the money so the residents of our rescue and Pet Adoption Facility stay warm this winter! All Giving Tuesday donations will be used to help purchase a new heating/air unit.

Thanks for Giving!
Meet Maggie! 💙 Turned into the county shelter at the beginning of August, Maggie found herself in a very full, overwhelming shelter and was added to the kill list. Her previous person had health issues and could no longer care for her. Maggie was a county favorite and volunteers quickly discovered that she LOVES playing in water. After our intake team met her, we knew OPP could help this amazing girl. Maggie is a very loving, sweet girl and always has a beautiful smile on her face!
Meet Figaro! Losing weight and literally bouncing off his cage walls, Figaro needed out of the county shelter! His physical and mental stress had him on the immediate kill list. When we took Fig out of the stressful environment, we experienced the sweetest most loving boy. We immediately understood why he was a volunteer favorite! There was no doubt that he was coming to the safety of O.P.P. to receive TLC! Once in the car, Fig settled into the passenger seat and fell into a deep sleep. He has quite a snore! Upon entering O.P.P., he found a tennis ball and a smile came on his face. Thank you ACO Sam for sharing Fig’s story with us! We already love Fig so much and we cannot wait to find him his forever home!💙
On Friday, O.P.P. received a text from our contact at Cobb County Animal Shelter, Sherry:
"We are out of space at Cobb ...WE HAVE A LOT GOING TO BE PTS ... Today at closing." The Intake Team was alerted and off to the county shelter we quickly went.
Sherry was waiting for us upon arrival with the list in hand. With only a couple of hours to meet and make decisions, we went to work. Because we were able to pull the most urgent, the county did not euthanize Friday at close.
Below is a video from a volunteer at Cobb County Animal Shelter, sharing.lov. Thank you, Bruna, for all the hard work you do and for loving these animals as much as we do!
Stay tuned this week as we introduce our FIVE new residents! 💙
Sasha has persevered!
She faced her demise for a second time: first the county shelter and then life-threatening bloat. She survived both with your help! It has been a team effort these past two days between sending PETs during a high risk surgery, the phenomenal emergency veterinarian care provided by VEG and donations to cover her life-saving expenses. Thanks to all who have helped Sasha!! 🙏
Here is the donate button if you would like to help her as well:

Update!
Our sweet girl has made it to her temporary foster home and is settling in great! As you can see from the video, the moment we took her out of the building, she knew she was leaving the shelter for her second chance at life!
This amazing girl is emaciated with her rib and hip bones showing, so her new foster mom is giving her small, very healthy meals. Her eyes are really bothering her so that’s the first item to address.
Stay tuned for more updates and an opportunity to donate to her $5 Friday tomorrow! All of your donations will help us cover her medical expenses! Her foster mom is going to sleep with her tonight to help her settle. Sweet dreams!💙🫶😴
Remember Coco who we rescued earlier this week? Well, it’s safe to say she’s settling in nicely 💙💙💙💙!!!
Meet Mr. Rogers!💙
This friendly boy was found as a stray with another dog and brought to Cobb County Animal Services by a good samaritan. His best friend was adopted into a home but Mr. Rogers was alone and overlooked by adopters due to his dark coloring and unique look. Any dark colored dog, sitting quietly in the back of their cage has a higher likelihood of being looked over by potential adopters.
When Camp O.P.P. met him, they knew we had to help this amazing boy. Despite his circumstances, he met everyone with his award winning smile and a happy-go-lucky attitude! When asked to describe Mr. Rogers, campers said, “He’s super cute! He loves to stick his tongue out! He loves to hang out with people and he lays down and lets people pet him.”
As soon as he was brought to OPP his loving and silly personality began to shine though! Now he greets every guest that comes into our facility with a big smile and some good kisses! You can feel his radiant personality when you meet him and even through the video below! He’s so happy to be at O.P.P. and he is so excited to find his forever home! 💙🫶🐶
Harry is such a happy guy! He knows sit, does great on a leash, and has the best personality! He’s been loving Camp O.P.P. this summer and the campers love spending time with him!💙🐶
