The reception desk at the Essex County Environmental Center, inspired by my favorite book from my youth, The Life of the Pond. The environmental center is a gateway to the Passaic River and the wet meadows where I spent loads of time as a kid.... My high top Cons are still soggy!

The wolves at the Dublin Zoo have settled in to their new habitat that we helped create last summer in Ireland. Emphasis was on environmental enrichment in the design and construction of a waterfall, stream, den and bone wash feeding station.

The Venezuelan Tepui formations that we built at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, years ago, look better than ever. Great job working in the high elevation greenhouse and for a great staff.

"The Sleeper" These 2.5" plaster tortoises are the vanguard of a legion of decoys that will be painted to mimic young geometric tortoises. The decoy tortoises will be used initially with camera traps to assess crow predation on juvenile tortoises at the Turtle Conservancy' Geometric Tortoise Preserve near Cape Town, South Africa. Potentially the decoys could be used to discourage crows from molesting tortoises. I'll keep you posted on this interesting art for conservation effort headed up by Jim Juvik and Ross Keister.

Cooter in the mighty Santa Fe River

The driving force behind my exhibit design and fabrication has always been my experiences in nature. I'd like to share the images of special places and wildlife encounters that have inspired me over the years.

Erik Calander, founder of the Wildlife Kids Club International, needed help creating educational artifacts to promote conservation of Madagascar's native reptiles. The Rock Stars of GGD's stepped up and donated time and materials to get the project rolling with the fabrication of 50 artificial tortoise shells. Thanks to those who were generous in loaning specimens for mold construction. The shells were hand delivered to Madagascar by Erik and used for education and art projects.
