Hello, my name is Linda Lavender and I breed, train, and show Staffordshire Bull Terriers (Staffords) and American Staffordshire Terriers (Amstaffs). I have a long and diversified history with behavioral training. Some of my favorite teachers are Cesar Millan, Kyra Sundance, Karen Pryor, and Suzanne Clothier. I am always looking to enhance my skills and knowledge and am looking forward to finishin
g Suzanne’s CARAT training. My family and I currently live in Georgia between Atlanta and Athens. Though I got into the “dog world” in 1996 when I took a job as a dog trainer, I obtained my first show dog in 2008 from Jennifer Steinle of Ambition Amstaffs. Ziva was an excellent first show dog. I did obedience with her and she moved into show training easily. I was nervous about showing (because it was not part of my skillset), so Jennifer handled her to her Championship title. Though Ziva was a great dog, I lived in a small house and remembered a wonderful Stafford I got from the Humane Society and used as a demo dog many years ago. The breeds are similar, but Staffords have a little softer temperament. Jennifer and I began looking for a Stafford to show. We obtained a wonderfully special boy from Michelle Bryant of Shortyrock, Shortyrocks Cisco Simmer Down Girls. Cisco was initially shown by Jennifer, but in 2013 I decided to begin showing myself. My first goal: finish a dog in the Conformation Ring was accomplished with Cisco in 2014. My second goal was to get a dog ranked in the top 20, I did that in 2015 with Cisco. My next goal is to personally rank a dog in the top 5. My puppies are raised indoors with the Puppy Culture Protocols in mind, which gives them the best start for a relaxed and resilient adulthood. They are well socialized with people, dogs, children, cats, goats, and horses, and I keep them until they reach 10 weeks. The puppies are fed a mixture of Blue Ridge Beef raw food with goat milk and transitioned to a high quality grain free kibble prior to leaving. They also have a good start on house and leash training prior to leaving my house. I like to meet all my puppy owners in person and love to follow them on Facebook. My family is passionate about the health and welfare of dogs, and we do our best to keep our babies happy and healthy throughout their life, no matter where they go. I will not sell a puppy for any illegal purpose, nor will they go to a home where they will be chained outside. I want homes for my puppies where they will be cherished members of the family. I will provide lifetime support for you and your new puppy, and we will ALWAYS take back anything we have produced at any age.
We need your help! This boy needs a name. His brother is Irresistibull’s Evolution. His mother is CH Irresistibull’s Siena Sunburst with Ambition and his father is Multi CH Maxsta Bombastic Boy. I want something fun, whimsical, and unique. He is a very soft tempered sweet boy. His face is very clean and soft. It reminds me of Cisco.

Divvy is out of my girl, CH Irresistibull Champagne Kisses, and Mariah’s boy, GCH Benmars Sting Ray of Cobblestone.
Divvy ended 2023 as the #7 AmStaff in the country even though she was only shown March through October by me (an owner handler).
This year up to 4/30/24, Divvy is the #3 AmStaff in the country. She recently picked up 12 more breed points and two more Group placements this past weekend.
I’m so proud of my girl and very thankful for all who played a part in the making and showing of this girl.

We had a great time in Perry, GA! Friday got in some practice, Divvy went Breed two out of the four days with Jennifer, and I got to see Kinley again with her AMAZING owners! The Coverts are new to showing and have done a wonderful job learning a completely new skill! Kinley is well trained and in great condition, and she and Cody make an excellent team! So proud of them!

Bringing home a Puppy vs an Adult:
A lot of people believe BONDING can only occur with a baby. This is simply not true. An AmStaff or Stafford will bond fiercely with whomever they live with for three consecutive months. They ADORE people and form attachments very easily.
Some people think it's easier for a puppy to learn rules and routines. It's actually easier for one over 12 months to figure this out because they already have the frameworks in place. It takes them three weeks to learn a new routine. Babies, older puppies, young adults, and adults all need you to consistently teach and reinforce all your rules.
What if the older puppy/dog picked up bad habits in their previous home? DOMINANCE IS PERSONAL, if you show the dog the rules for YOUR house and consistently enforce them, any formerly acquired bad habits will not matter.
The only actual reason to go with a puppy is to enjoy their babyhood. Please remember they ARE BABIES! They need constant supervision, frequent potty breaks, frequent meals, a crate to safely rest in, extensive training and socialization, and lots of physical and mental stimulation. They are A LOT OF WORK. If you don’t have the time or energy to devote to them, please do not get a puppy.
RETIRED SHOW DOGS have traveled extensively, spent many hours crated, encounter many barking dogs of all sizes and coats, and have had tons of strangers stare at and touch them. They are relaxed in noisy and boisterous environments. They potty on leash, on gravel, on grass, on concrete, and in pens. They are used to getting their nails trimmed and being bathed. They make EXCELLENT PETS!
Additionally, older dogs tend to be more conscientious of their bodies and power when interacting with children. Puppies see kids as peers and are much more likely to try to gain dominance over them through rough play as they enter adolescence.
When you are considering adding to your family, please take into account the amount of time and energy you have available, your family makeup, your experience raising puppies/dogs, and what exactly you need your dog to do. And, be sure to communicate all of this to your breeder. It is their job to point you to the right puppy/dog for you and your lifestyle.
