💔A soon-to-be mother lays on a cold shelter floor trembling in fear and ready to give birth. We received a call for help to save this mom and her unborn babies. The shelter volunteers are desperate to get her to safety.

At any moment, she can give birth, and her babies will be exposed to diseases and viruses; their compromised immune systems will stand no chance against them.

We need your help today; to pull this soon-to-be mom to safety. We need funding and multiple fosters in NY that will commit to receiving them when our vet medically clears them for transport.

Foster offers for puppies and adults have been very few and far between, which prevents us from saying yes to saving lives. To save this family, we need your help tonight.

Our foster team is on standby to review and approve applications this evening, so we can commit to getting them out by tomorrow morning. Please help us save them; they deserve a second chance, and we simply cannot do this without you. Together with can save Lexi and her babies.

Today is the first day of fee-waived adoptions at all LifeLine shelters! Visit Dekalb County Animal Services, Fulton County Animal Services or the LifeLine Community Animal Center this weekend to adopt a new companion. Bismuth, located at our Community Animal Center, is one of the many pups in our care today looking for a home. As a special treat to kick off the weekend, Bismuth will be LIVE on our page later today to tell you all the reasons you should come adopt her and her pals! She's crossing her paws that today is the day she finds a loving family.

This is so sad! 🐾😥

Every one of these collars tells a story we'll never know. If an animal comes to our facility wearing a collar or harness, it is taken off for safety reasons, then kept as a potential identifying feature for someone looking for a lost pet. Old and worn, bright and new, top of line or heavy hardware links, they all started somewhere.

We keep these in plastic tubs with the hope that someone will come and say "...her collar was green..." and we can send that animal home. But more often they sit. This pile is just from this March. So many animals have arrived in our care, and it breaks our hearts that they were someone's family member but here they say.

Today, these four dogs along with 16 others were scheduled to be euthanized. They were put on an urgent list with a deadline. Why, you might ask? Simply because it was kill day at the shelter.

Tippi, Steven, Lilly and Zaxby are all healthy and adoptable animals. Their only fault was to end up at a shelter that plays games with their lives. We are never the ones to put the blame on shelters, but when kennel space is available and dogs are still dying - healthy and adoptable - we have a huge issue. It is not fair.

Every single week we get a new list with as many as 20+ dogs and we always scramble to find placement for them. This week, we could not find fosters and we are extremely full. We could not stop thinking about them, though. An hour before euthanasia, we committed to them and we were hoping for a miracle. Thankfully, our vet had space to board them, completely vet them and allow them to decompress before they make our way to us. We are so grateful. How amazing would it be to have foster homes lined up for them for when they do make our way down to us though?! That is really what we are hoping for!

A special thank you to the group of volunteers that work tirelessly to save lives daily. We know the stress and worry that all goes into this and unfortunately, when you are not able to save them all, their faces haunt you forever. It is heartbreaking.

No lives were lost today. We, other rescues and the volunteers worked together and pulled off another miracle and got them out before they were put to death. Sadly, as happy as we are currently, we know that in just a few days, we will get another list and the scrambling, stress and worry will soon be all too real again. We are hoping that one day very soon in the future, things in animal welfare will be much better in the South and across our nation. Until then, we will fight the good fight and continue to speak for those who do not have a voice.

Omg, poor Cookie! 😥💔 If anyone can help by donating anything, that would be nice!

💔 This heartbreaking image was posted on Facebook with a call for help from a woman who did not have funds to get her dog Cookie to a vet for critical medical care.

Cookie's owner noticed a mass growing and slowly getting bigger over the past year. At the same time, Cookie’s owner was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was struggling. She was forced to leave her job and rely on disability to get by. Sadly she does not have the funds to save her beloved dog, Cookie, and resorted to an internet plea to find help.

When we were forwarded this plea, we took one look at Cookie, and our hearts broke. We immediately reached out to the owner to offer assistance to help Cookie. We know how difficult and heartbreaking this image is to look at. We feel the same despair and sadness that you are feeling right now. We are committed to saving Cookie's life, and we need your support.

Cookie is meeting with our vet partners tomorrow to create a plan of action for her medical treatment. We will not let Cookie nor her mom down. We are committed to helping our community by providing medical care for their beloved pets and keeping families together.

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be very hard and painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me. Please be patient with me.
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well being.
4. Do not be angry with me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you!
6. Talk to me, even if I do not understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me. You only have to look at my tail!
7. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it!
8. Before you hit me, remember that I have teeth that could crush the bones in your hand, but I choose not to bite you. (DON'T HIT YOUR DOG!)
9. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I am in pain or sick, or my heart might be getting weak and I cannot tell you.
