I was born on January 28, 2008 in Kentucky. My sire is Pure Prize, my dam was Hey Hazel. Both were multi-graded stakes winners. My mom died two days after I was born and I was nursed by another mom, before being shipped to my breeders in Colorado when I was a weanling. I stayed there for awhile and was then shipped out to begin training to race at Homecite Farm in California. I raced six races at
Santa Anita and Hollywood Park. For some reason, my breeders had to sign me over to my trainer and she shipped me to her partners who race horses in the East. I raced four times at Colonial Downs and Charles Town and won one race. My last race was June 24th 2012. After that, I do not remember what happened to me until I was shipped to the New Holland Livestock Auction in PA. and sold to a kill buyer on June 10, 2013. He tied me up outside and it was hailing and raining for hours. I was so scared until somebody who told me she was the 'boots on the ground' for Blue Skies Riding Academy led me to a stall with hay and away from the cows. I was still pretty worried, but in the early morning on June 11, a tall woman came up to me and told me she was taking me home. It was a long trailer ride to Georgia, but AJ took good care of me. I came home to Blue Skies Riding Academy in Emerson, GA at 9:30 that night. I was put in a quarantine stall for 30 days and given yummy hay to eat and Seminole feed. I love this feed. People come to see me and they are very nice. AJ takes care of my daily needs, but I get visited by 'Mom' who always brings treats, and Sami who gave me a bath and trimmed my mane. They have given me some yucky stuff, too, like shots and wormer, but they give a lot of treats and loving, too. I met a vet named Sue and she said I have an infection in my withers and have to go to the hospital. AJ says I am going to meet doctors there on July 12 and they will see what needs to be done. I don't know if I should be worried about this or not. My quarantine is done on July 11. Mom says I will move to the big barn that day. And AJ says she is taking me to Auburn University Large Animal Teaching Hospital the next day. What does all this mean? I think this is what humans call an 'adventure'. I just hope I can make friends in the big barn. I hear there are other Thoroughbreds up there. Thank you for reading my posts about my 'adventure'. This is my journal.
