Our Story

We all know the scene: You’re packing your bags for a trip or getting ready for work, looking at your furry friend, and wishing you could take them with you. That’s where we come in. Started in 1998 (owned and run by animal lover April Abbott since 2004), Pet Minders was created to fill a need for care of cats and dogs who are home alone all day or aren’t a good fit for a kennel when you leave town. We’ll come to your home where your pets feel comfortable and keep them on their regular feeding and walking schedule to help relieve anxiety. While you’re always assigned a primary sitter, if that sitter isn’t available, we have back-up sitters in all service areas -- all of which are experienced, insured, and bonded. They know you want to hear about your pet’s day ,so they send texts and pictures as often as you like. Whether your pet needs a midday potty break, kitty cat care, an overnight buddy, or just a jaunt down the street, we’re here to hold their paw every step of the way.
