Are my kitties bonded ? And how can I know if it’s ok to separate them

My bf found some kitties about 2 months ago. He adopted one (the dilute calico)and we’ve been fostering the other (the black one). We already have an adopter for the black baby but we’ve kept them together this whole time because we needed them to get big enough to get fixed, per the recommendation of the foster I reached out to for support.

The babies have gotten super close - they sleep together, groom each other, and play all the time. They also spend a good time apart though and will do things separately as well. How do I know if they’re bonded or just close ?!

Part of me wants to rescind the other adoption and just keep them both but that wouldn’t be a smart decision financially because between my bf and I, we already have 3 animals total.

Oh boy. My neighbor brought me a kitten a stray left in their yard. Can't find the mom. I bought it a heating pad and goats milk and a little syringe for now. My pomeranian who was a mom 8 years ago cleaned it and helped it go p*e. I will be calling the vet when they open tomorrow.

First time cat owner here: new kitties barely eaten or drank water and have not gone to the bathroom for 24 hrs

Hello all! I’m a new cat owner here and my wife and I adopted a bonded pair of 10 month old young cats yesterday. Before now they’d been born and raised in the shelter so this is the first time they’ve ever been in a new environment so I understand there’s going to be an adjustment period, I just want to make sure that what we are observing is normal.

When we brought the cats home they didn’t want to come out of their carriers for a few hours (which is fine we let them do their own thing), and when they finally did come out one hid in the litter box and the other behind the toilet. we have them in a room that is a bedroom that we use as an office connected to a large bathroom. They aren’t afraid of us and will let us pet them and etc, but are just very hesitant to move out of their hiding spots. When we were with them last night we gave then about a third of a can of wet food on a plate and it didn’t help them come out so we just left them to their own devices overnight. We woke up this morning there were some signs the scratching post had been used, a blanket we had on the floor was rearranged and they had eaten about half of the wet food we left out (so about 1/6th of a can each assuming they both ate), and the litter box showed no signs of being used. They also had retreated into the little bed/bunker we provided them, where they have not left all day even when left alone for the bulk of the day while my wife and I were at work. Picture attached is the bunker.

I expect them to hide for a while until they adjust, I just want to make sure that this is not completely unhealthy, particularly the not using the bathroom. Is there any thing we can do to make them feel more comfortable coming out to explore and familiarize with the environment?

our 1 year old died this morning from FIP.. make it make sense

this is maeby. last week she was playing, had caught a mouse, perfectly healthy.

last night she wasn’t moving or eating. she didn’t deserve this. i can’t stop thinking about the things we could have done to save her.

this morning she had to be put down and vet said there was no treatment or cure. it doesn’t make sense. we’re destroyed.

she absolutely loved to snuggle and was always purring on our chests. my husband was with her when she left and said that even after she took her last breath, he could still feel her purring.

we love her so much. we’re going to miss her so fu***ng much. ❤️‍🩹💔🪽

I think “fixed” cat is pregnant

I feel silly even typing this, but here is some context: My spouse and I became fosters to this adorable, abandoned cat that was hanging around my parent’s backyard in freezing weather (Feb 29). We fostered her through an official program who took care of all her medical needs. They told us she was not chipped, but confirmed she was already spayed. We both knew nothing about cats, but we ended up falling in love with her and we officially adopted her a few weeks ago.

She always had big ni***es (we were told she may have had a litter before) so it was not a red flag. That is, until now. She has put on some healthy weight (she was emaciated when we first found her), but a lot of it seems to be in her belly area. I know it sounds ridiculous but we can’t help but think she is pregnant.

I have an appointment with the vet in 3 days (the earliest they could get me in), but I’m a little anxious thinking about the possibility she may seriously be expecting. I am wondering if this has ever happened before (an allegedly spayed cat being pregnant). I am also wondering if there could be any other reason my cat looks like this?
