Four leopard geckos available for adoption!

An approved appropriate setup is required BEFORE adoption. A care-sheet with UTD husbandry standards can be emailed, and Kay is always here for questions and to help set one up, and can recommend a cost effective pvc enclosure.

Pickles is probably the most handleable, very chill and calm.

Cheesy and Mustard are still pretty flighty but both love to explore their enclosures and are very curious about everything. (They are not housed together.)

Legs is chill most of the time but can be a bit flighty. She has metabollic bone disease, so climbing can be a bit difficult but she still likes to explore. MBD cant be cured, only kept from getting worse with proper UVB and calcium supplements, but she doesnt let it stop her and its not bad enough to require special treatment besides keeping her climbing decorations lower.

Kay is not intaking reptiles at this time.

Who else loves to spoil their pups for Christmas? Well, theirs dogs and puppies in shelters that don't always get spoiled as much. We have bags with wishlists and pictures of each dog on them. Come in and spoil a dog for Christmas 🎄

We truly care about your pets safety and with the latest news we want our pet parents to know we are doing everything we can to keep our store safe with enhanced sanitation and cleaning of surfaces. While we don't wish to cause panic or miss seeing all the sweet faces it is strongly advised, until we have more answers, pups should stay home as there are now reports it has made its way to Indiana. We will do our best to stay up to date on this issue. We recognize we are not veterinarians so any questions or concerns related to this should go to your vet.

Sometimes the hardest thing we have to do working in rescue is to say goodbye. But you really never think it will be 3 goodbyes within 11 days. Kemo went to the rainbow Bridge first. Only 5 days later we had to say our goodbyes to Big Ben. Today wasn't any better as our sweet sweet Wendy joined them. We truly love all of the dogs at CHR but our sanctuary dogs soften our hearts even more because we know we will be their forever home. Sometimes it's a health condition, sometimes it's because they have a bond with another dog that really won't survive after they leave and Sometimes they just steal your heart and letting them go feels impossible. What so many don't see is the financial strain we face to care for them and even when we say goodbye. We know the calls will keep coming to help other wonderful babies too. Currently our biggest battle is the vet expenses. So if you are looking to help out you can stop in at chow hound to donate or even just call Auburn Hills Animal Hospital and tell them you want to donate to Canine Havens account. So we ask that if anyone has to ability to donate, even $5 helps us get needed meds or even a paw print to help us remember those we fought so hard for. Chow Hound Auburn is partnered with Canine Haven Rescue, it is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization in Waterloo, Indiana. They are a foster-based dog rescue they recently expanded beyond just dogs and are now accepting cats, reptiles, and Guinea pigs with a small shelter and sanctuary at the directors home. They pull dogs from high kill shelters all over the United States, owner surrenders, and former breeding dogs. They then place them in foster homes after they are completely vetted. The vetting includes all age appropriate shots, microchips, deworming, heart worm tested, heart worm treatment if needed, heart worm prevention, and spay or neuter. They also take a lot of medical cases from diabetes, to heart problems, to surgical needs, bait dogs that would all be euthanized if they didn’t step in. They also do lost dog tracking and trapping in our county and the surrounding areas. They make it their mission to get them home safely. They establish feeding stations, video surveillance, and set up humane live traps. They help to educate, instruct and train the public at large on the value of spay and neuter to decrease the pet population and educate on proper animal care and responsibility. They help with vet assistance costs to those in need from their angel fund when their budget allows. They are working on opening the 1st pet food pantry in our county. Their Moto is, Saving one dog may not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever. At Chow Hound Auburn we carry a variety of different shirts for sale and all proceeds go directly to Canine Haven Rescue, we also have a cash donation box located at the check-out counter, along with a donation box for animal supplies.
