Your dog doesn’t “like” nail trims?

That’s okay, neither does my OWN dog.

She has only ever been trimmed by me, with the same tool. As you can see, it’s still the absolute worst thing I could possibly do to her. Learning to sit quietly, doesn’t mean they enjoy it. Majority of dogs, will never “like” nail trims. I just make it an easier, less stressful process 😊

Please don’t feel ashamed to reach out if your dogs paws look similar, life happens and for some dogs it doesn’t take long for their nails to get out of control. No judgement zone here. Severe overgrowth is no problem for me to help with.

Fourth of July and dogs typically don’t have a great relationship. Here’s some tips to keep your pet safe:

- Keep pets inside as much as possible, if you need to take them out keep them on a leash with a properly fitting collar. Even in a fenced yard, it doesn’t take long for a panicked animal to dig out.

- Turn on a TV or radio to help drown out the noise of festivities.

- Provide a “safe place” such as a crate or quiet dark room for pets to retreat and hide.

- Ensure your pets microchip information is up to date.

- Take your pet on a walk and play BEFORE sunset. A tired pet will handle fireworks better.

- If your pet is extra nervous or anxious to noise, consult with your veterinarian about something to help calm them.

There’s just something special about trimming a horse with zero assistance needed and knowing that horse won’t move a bit. Truly well behaved horses are something I don’t see often but when I do, they are my most cherished. I am the only person that has ever touched this mares feet her entire life, she has never had a bad experience and can be trimmed anywhere: stall, pasture, a show. Same horse every time.
