KENNEBEC K9 ACADEMY POLICIES
EFFECTIVE 8/22/23;

•Business hours;
Our week day hours will remain 6:30am-5:30 pm. However our weekend hours will be changing from 8am-12pm we will not be open for daycare services on the weekend, this is strictly for boarding drop offs/pick ups. This change comes as we have taken this year to evaluate all aspects of the business and clean up any areas that may need altering. Please contact us during our normal business hours to check in on your loved one during their daycare day/boarding stay. We will do our best to return your call/messages in a prompt manner. However, if you reach out to us during non business hours we will return your message the following business day. We will however get in direct contact with you if a matter is urgent. We understand daycare & boarding is stressful to new clients, however we strive here to provide the upmost care to your loved ones!
•Visitations;
Please schedule appointments to view our boarding kennels with us. We will not be accepting “drop ins” as this poses as a safety hazard to both potential customers & daycare dogs as not all enjoy the company of strangers. Please under NO circumstances, stop by the daycare on closed business days. You will be asked to call us on our next business day and schedule an appointment. Please respect this, as this is both our home & business location.
•PERMITTED AREAS FOR CLIENTS;
-Client permitted areas are limited to the daycare portion of the property that is clearly marked. As many know, this is a facility that is established on our personal aproperty. This means that under NO circumstances are clients permitted to enter any area on the property that is not labeled Kennebec’s K9 Academy Accessible. To help render any confusion, we have provided additional signage that helps solidify permitted areas. This means that while we are business, clients are restricted to the business side of our property that is clearly labeled and designated for our business. The areas not designated for business areas and are restricted from clientele entrance are;
-The main front lawn, the right side of the driveway.
-Behind any fenced areas
-Any and all wooded property behind the daycare building, the backside/or either sides of the daycare building or surrounding the driveway.
-Any and all area around, on the side of, behind or in front of the main house.
*These areas are used for personal use and not safety cleared and permitted for daycare purposes. If these guidelines are not followed, we will ask said clients to please leave the property and their enrollment in our facility will be revoked. This type of behavior not only raises concerns for safety risks, but is also an impediment on our privacy.*
*There has been a door bell placed on the daycare fence entrance for all clients to push at the their time of arrival as we will no longer be offering car side pick up and drop offs.*
*Please refrain from knocking on the main house doors, as these are not daycare entrances and would not be answered or heard, as they are two separate buildings.*
•LEASHING;
-Under NO circumstances is your pup to arrive off leash or be let out of the vehicle to roam with the leash dragging behind. All owners must have full control of their pup at drop off. This creates a major safety hazard to all involved. Leashing is not optional and your dog will not be walked into the daycare area without one.
•DAYCARE;
-While we do offer open daycare on certain days, we will not be accepting drop ins. This means that if you would like to inquire about daycare services for same day or next day services, all inquires must be made first via phone, email or through our page. We will no longer be accepting any drop in drop offs and will be sending those home who do so.
•Early Drop Offs & Late Pick ups;
-Drop offs for morning daycare and/or boardings start at 6:30am. We do allow a (10) minute grace period for needed earlier drop offs, however any drop offs earlier than 5:50 am, will be charged a ($25) early drop off fee.
-Pick up time for all daycare/boarding clients M-F is 5:30pm. Any pick ups after 5:30pm, will result in a late pick up fee of ($25) that is due PRIOR to pick up.
•Boardings;
If your dog has not boarded with us before and is schedule for a board longer than (1) overnight, we will require (1) overnight board to take place before their extended stay. This is to ensure both your pup as well as our other boards are able to experience a stress free board and positive experience. This is both crucial & mandatory for all new boardings.
•”Three Strikes” Policy;
We will be implementing a new (3) strike rule for all daycare & boarding clients. We will first and foremost, try to handle the issue at hand but if we render unsuccessful, you will be asked to please pick up your companion. We know traveling is a stressful time, however maintaining stress free and neutral level of noise, is imperative on maintaining a safe, fun environment for both us and the dogs. If we feel that your dog may not be a good fit for us, we do reserve the right to decline a spot here for them at our facility.
Pick Up times •BOARDINGS ONLY•;
This one will be the biggest change for most. For all boardings day of pick up, pick time will start at 10 am. This ensures that all daycare drop offs have been completed and allow us a more “uniform” & structured way to take on pick ups. As always, we are CLOSED for pick ups from (11-12pm) as this is our quiet hour for our dogs to regroup and we do not want to disturb them during this time. Pick up time will resume from after quiet time from 12-5:30pm M-F. If you are picking up on the weekend, you must do so by 12pm. If you are late for pick up at any point you will be charged a late fee.
*CANCELATIONS*
All boarding stay invoices are final. We are unable to provide any refund on cancelled boarding stays as we have very limited availability. We require a 48 hour notice of cancellation for your stay to receive a credit on your boarding to be used for future use. This credit MUST be used within 365 days of the original paid cancelled boarding invoice. If you do not give us a 48 hour notice of cancellation, you forfeit your boarding credit and all funds paid on your invoice. We value our customers, and this is to ensure we can accommodate everyone’s needs and requests.
*TRAININGS*
All training class enrollments are non refundable. These are limited spot classes and we do not offer refunds. If you commit to a training class you are agreeing to these terms on enrollment.
*LATE FEES*
-Per daycare policy, if your dog is picked up AFTER hours, anytime after 12pm on the weekends and 5:30pm on the week days, you will be charged a $25 late fee. We depend on these hours to accomplish our tasks needed to finish out our day. Unfortunately at this time, we have no room for exceptions.
