I’ve had a lot of people ask so I just wanted to update.. Shaw Stables is currently full with a small but for sure wanting waiting list. I always tell people let me put your name on my list and I will call you when what you are looking for comes available but I will say that right now everyone here is a great group of boarders and pretty long term committed to Shaw Stables. I appreciate the support I’ve gotten so much since taking this facility on. It’s been a lot of work and still so much more that can always be done but the change of reputation that this barn has received since I’ve taken over has been amazing! Thank you everyone that has reached out and everyone on my list I promise I will tell you as soon as something is available.

Nancy has found her forever home! She will be apart of an amazing lesson program in scio and when she’s not teaching people how amazing horses are she gets to roam 80 acres with friends and I can still see her and check on her whenever I want! She deserves to be loved on by kids and people for the rest of her life I wish I could’ve kept her as the “Shaw” community horse but I just can’t. I couldn’t of asked for a better home then myself! We are a LLC and The Canyon Riders Rodeo Drill & Flag Team! We are located in the Willamette Valley and surrounding areas. We are a NPRA certified team with years of experience performing and helping at rodeos in and out of the arena.

We are looking to add people to our team! Whether it’s yours or your horses first time ever or you’ve done it all before and your looking to do it again, we are looking for new gals and GUYS in all departments(ground crew, flag team and drill team)

Even if you aren’t sure or you don’t have a horse for it but you have a curiosity or a passion to be around horses and the drive to learn come meet us and check it out! There is a spot on our team for you!! We are gonna get together every Sunday evening starting mid September and all the way thru October and possibly do a little Halloween treat at the end of it all 👻 so you have more then one chance to meet us and see if we are something you would love to be apart of! Feel free to come to every meet up with or without a horse and we even have a couple horses to lend out if you don’t have a horse but you want to give it a try!
This team is so much more then a once a week practice and some rodeos in the summertime, we are friends and we thrive because of that! We are family oriented. We camp, trail ride, have get togethers and support one another thruout everything we do in our personal lives!

Meet Nancy!
She was abandoned at Shaw Stables no fault of her own, clearly as you can see in the pics, she’s amazing! Previous owner just didn’t want to pay for her. She will be up for adoption at the end of the month. She has been a barn favorite! She’s 20 yrs old and 15.2-3 hands tall and just as thick. She loves the kids. My three year old drags her all over the place. She’s laid back, go with the flow type of personality. She’s not herd bound. She’s great on fencing. Clean in a stall. Great for the farrier. Trailers and bathes like a Queen. Is great down the trail no matter where you put her in line. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this big gorgeous girl. She will make the perfect “husband horse”. She will be actively being worked u til rehomed. Her fee is based only off of what is owed to me for her. This is a mare you don’t want to miss out on for the right price! I will be picky about her home as I said earlier she has become a favorite!

SOS! We believe that someone has come into our property and taken our barn cats and a few of the kittens we had. Doing this they have left the newborn babies belonging to Arlo behind which we are now having to hand feed and care for. For anyone that feels as tho this was caused to them not being fixed we already had it lined up for them to be fixed but the females went and got pregnant before that happened so we had to wait til they were weaned from their babies.
Momo is jet black and “underweight” due to feeding five male kittens recently.
Arlo is jet black and white markings and long bodied and feeding newborns so will seem underweight as well.
Jax is a young orange male. Who has just hit the age of being taken in to get fixed and did have an appt to do so.
Three male kittens from momos litter. The jet black one, the solid grey one, and one of the striped tabby ones.

If you know anything please message me asap. They were homestead and established and healthy cats. Fed 24/7 always access to water and beds and shelter. Shiny coats. There was no need to steal them please bring them home!

These kittens are ready to go to their new homes! All males. All free! I’m about a month I will have some more as well from my other cat all black and white three boys three girls but these ones are ready now! Come get them!

I have four male kittens ready to leave next week and then will have five more kittens ready to go beginning of September 3 boys and 2 girls. Last pic is of the younger litter. Free. These are barn living cats but they are socialized and kept in the office.

I saw this today on a horse group I am apart of and you learn something new everyday is a truth! This is a ossified yolk sac. Something interesting to read up on. When I first saw it I assumed it was a twin skull early developed but I was wrong and I learned it’s commonly mistaken for it.

UPDATE ON STALLS AVAILABLE

We have two stalls open both with Hotwire runs. our facility has a wash rack, groom rack, plenty of storage room for hay, oversized round pen, an indoor arena and outside riding area and a neighboring property we are allowed to ride on. Trailer parking available, season grass pasture and year round dry lots. Self care and partial/full care options. Also have work in trade of board available. Message me for details.
