🐾What makes us different 🐾

I started grooming (on my own) in 2020 with the hopes of being able to board pups one day. In 2021 I was able to fulfill my wish of being able to offer boarding services!
I have been an employee since 2004 who has worked for some type of “animal care” type facility. This included 3 different vet clinics, a large boarding/grooming business, a smaller pet health food store/boarding business, cleaning horse stalls, etc….the last 20 years of my life I have “taken care of” pets. I am so thankful I get to do this as part of my own business now!

I (Emily) am the one who is looking after your pets almost all of the time, but if I am out of town, I have an AMAZING lady named Kara who steps right up and cares for everyone (including my own personal pets!) So, unlike most boarding facilities who have MANY employees in and out caring for your pup, we have at the most, TWO of us.

You may be thinking how we manage this with just two people (one most of the time), and this is because we only have a total of 7 kennels. This small number of kennels allows us to have more time with the pups and a lower stress environment for the pups that stay with us 💖

We still have openings in August/September for your pup to stay with us! We’d love to have you !

My books for GROOMING in AUGUST are filling quickly ! I still have some availability for BOARDING at this time.

My full grooming prices will be increasing $5-10 depending on the pup. Nail trims, as will boarding prices, will all stay the same. Please PM me if you have any questions💖

Happy 4th of July!

Remember many pets don’t do well with fireworks and will bolt at the noise! Take your pup out on a leash to potty, and secure outside pups so they don’t get lost if they bolt!

I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, and finally have the time to do it 👏🏻

Hey guys! My name is Emily, and I am the owner/groomer of The Punchy Pup Grooming Company.
My life has always revolved around animals since I was a kid, and I’m proud to say, it still does! My experience ranges from working at a pet health food company to boarding kennels, and most recently as a small animal veterinary assistant (for 12 years). I took so much knowledge away from those places, and have applied it to The Punchy Pup.
If you’ve been of my shop, I’m sure you’ve seen that I have horses! When I’m not in the shop, I’m either back at the barn riding, at a horse show, or at the Mexican restaurant 🤣. I show working cow horses as much as my time allows and it’s a huge part of my life.
If you’ve been to the shop in the last couple months, you’ve probably seen Kimes, my new Great Dane puppy! I’m hoping to venture into dog shows some this year with her !
I love what I do everyday, but my favorite thing is seeing the reactions pups have when their owners pick them up. There just isn’t a love quite like the love of a dog 💖

🐶🌵🐾HEY YALL! 🐾🌵🐶

The month of March is now FULL with the exception of some bath appointments. I strongly encourage everyone to pre-book their appointments when they pick up to make sure we can get your pup cleaned up on time 🫶🏻

I’ve also been thinking about doing an “FYI FRIDAY” post, answering/explaining the “why” I do things the way I do! This is an opportunity for yall to learn more about myself (Emily) and to ask questions about my grooming practice! I know how hard it is to trust someone with your pet who you don’t truly know, so this is your chance to get to know me a bit better ! 🌵🩷Emily

I get asked a lot what type of brush to use on doodles to prevent them from getting mats. My answer is always, the COMB!
This video shows how a combed out coat should be (first leg I comb) compared to a coat that needs to be combed out (second leg). You can see that both of these legs look “fluffy” (this pup had been washed and dried already) but his coat definitely needed combed out to prevent any matting.

🌵🐶Happy Monday 🐶🌵

You might notice that Scooby has on his harness while he’s on the grooming table, and there is a reason I did this for him.
Scooby has what is called a collapsing trachea, so any pressure around his neck causes him to cough and hack a little. The traditional grooming loops that help secure pups safely on my table only go around their neck, just like a collar, so not ideal for little Scooby. I used his harness to secure him to my grooming table for his salon day here to help minimize pressure on his trachea. 🥰
