Stellar Farms & Stockdogs Stellar Cattle Dogs firmly believe in working dogs that can be great family dogs too! Our dogs are AKC registered, health tested, and herding instinct tested.

Stellar Cattle Dogs work hard and love their jobs! We use our dogs on the farm almost daily. They are our companions as well as our workers. All of our dogs work with a lot of natural ability and live for making us happy! We believe in health testing and doing everything we can to better the breed. Our dogs are tested for hip dysplacia, PRCD, and are BAER tested. Come on by and check us out! We love talking about dogs and showing ours off.

5 lambs born today! A set of twins and a set of triplets. Both ewes are from my original flock and are oldies but goodies. This triplet momma has raised triplets before and could run with the best of the dairy cows! Ram lambs are dominating the count so far

Flint went along on errands today and went into a couple stores for some public socialization. I don't need/want my dogs to be overly friendly but I want them to be accepting of pets and the ACD is a breed that requires continued training for that to happen. Flint had a great experience today, receiving several pets and a treat from a Lowes employee!

We're down on sheep numbers this year. We have been culling hard since we bought back in and were heavy on rams one year. BUT these ewes are fancy and they had a new, fancy ram to cover them this season so I am super excited for lambs to start arriving in a couple weeks. They got moved into the lambing area today. Pregnancy Toxemia is a disease that affects gestating ewes. Simply put, the lambs take more nutrients from the ewe than she can provide, therefore putting herself at risk. First time mothers carrying multiples and older ewes are more susceptible.
In order to try and avoid this we keep out quality grass hay, mineral, and lick tubs. Despite our best efforts, this did not work for us this year. We have an older ewe 12+ that has come down with it. The vet thinks that the extreme weather we had last week probably was just too much for an old gal.
Pictured is our treatment protocol along with providing alfalfa hay, grain, minerals, and a lick tub. Everything is given orally. The pepto bismol reduces the acid in her stomach therefore encouraging her to begin eating again. The rest of them help to provide extra energy and nutrition to help kick start her body.

Poor puppy Flint is gonna need some scuba gear 🤣

Ron & Nick made adjustments to the snow forecast map based on afternoon and evening guidance. The bottom line hasn't changed. Plan on snow really ramping up starting around noon Tuesday and lasting into Tuesday night. Nick will have updates at 5 and Ron will have you covered this evening.

Several inches of snow and wind chills of -30 all forecasted for next week. Getting some extra calories in all the livestock!

Herding/active family prospect Marshall is so handsome and so sweet, with so much potential. He is AKC registered, BAER hearing normal, current on vaccinations and wormer, turned onto sheep, started on crate training, socialized with kids and other dogs. His possibilities are endless! His lives in SW Missouri

These puppies did not make it easy to choose a pup to keep. Flint, previously Ted, will be staying here with us. I am super excited about the homes that the other pups went to. I still have one uniquely marked male available from this super exciting cross.

Marshall is 9 weeks old and is AKC registered. He is current on vaccinations and wormer. He has BAER normal hearing. Marshall has a fun personality and is going to be a good buddy. He has the character to match his loud coloring. He has been stock tested and is turned onto sheep. (See Video) He currently lives in SW MO.
