💡 APOQUEL!!! Does your dog have allergies?!? Is your dog on APOQUEL to calm the itch?! 🫣
Did you know that Apoquel doesn’t “CURE” anything! What is unmentioned, Apoquel is actually an IMMUNE SUPPRESSANT and has very scary side effects!! According to the Apoquel insert, Approximately 6% of the test dogs for the drug have developed CANCER, other potential side effects listed include vomiting, diarrhea, secondary fungal and bacterial infections, liver failure, pneumonia!!
APOQUEL is UNSAFE for any dog under 12 months old or senior dogs it’s an IMMUNE SUPPRESSANT (meaning it weakens the immune system) leading to secondary infections or even cancer. Puppies under 12 months or senior dogs already have a weakened immune system (this drug) will suppress the immune system even more and can have lethal side effects!
If your dog is suffering from hot spots, itching, allergies, skin infections, ear infections, it’s generally related to an immune system dysfunction! The immune system dysfunction is caused by an imbalance of the good and bad bacteria in the gut (which causes leaky gut) the end result being inflammation… (allergies, ear issues, skin issues, itching) that become present or what your seeing on the outside of the dogs body!
Instead of giving APOQUEL, it’s best to take a natural approach (getting the gut balanced) with the appropriate diet that fits the dogs nutritional needs. Once you have the appropriate nutrition (this includes meals, treats, anything the dog is consuming) the gut becomes balanced, the body begins the healing process, inflammation decreases and the symptoms go away.

🎄🎅With the holidays upon us and shopping for those special gifts for your fur kids please AVOID buying RAWHIDE!! Not only do they pose a choking risk they also are extremely hard for dogs to digest causing a blockage! A surgery for intestinal blockage can range from 3-10K depending on the severity of the blockage and damages done to the animals digestive system!!

RAWHIDE also pose a contamination risk! As with pet toys, rawhide chews can contain trace amounts of toxic chemicals. And, as with other pet (or human) foods, Salmonella or E. coli contamination is possible. Even humans can be at risk when coming into contact with these bacteria on rawhide treats.

Please save your animals & yourself from hours waiting at an emergency clinic and thousands of dollars spent this holiday season!!! 🙏✨

⛑️TUESDAY SAFETY TIP!! 🏡HOME HAZARDS! ⚠️Did you know floor registers pose a life threatening risk to your pets?! If your pets wear collars and you’re not monitoring them it is best to remove the collars. The tags on the collars or the metal loop where the leash attaches can get caught in the floor register and strangle your pet! Many pets who love the heat or ac tend to gravitate to the floor registers to regulate the body temperature! Collars also pose a threat when roaming in yards or playing with other dogs! When roaming the yard they can get caught on random edges or fencing. When rough housing with other pets they can get tangled up and strangulation can occur. Please be very careful when pets are wearing collars for the safety of the animal!!!

On Oct 1st I launched a post for Breast cancer awareness month. I was going to donate 20% of all proceeds to cancer research at the end of the day on Oct 31st. On Saturday Night a horrific story unfolded on 9news about a beautiful family out of Thornton that I don’t personally know. This family was tragically killed at an intersection while on their way to run to the grocery store! This story has been on my heart everyday since. A mother, father, 2 daughters 15 & 10 were killed when they were trapped in the vehicle that had caught fire when it was hit by someone doing over 80MPH, rear ending them at a red light. The impact pushed there car into the intersection (which was then T b***d by another vehicle) the car exploded in flames they all lost their lives. They left behind 2 sons 20 & 22, one of which was supposed to be in the car with them that chose to stay home. These remaining children lived at home with them & now have to navigate planning funerals for their mom, dad & two sisters. These two boys have lost everything in an instant right before the holidays 💔. They now have to learn to navigate life in the days moving forward without the people who were guiding them into adulthood & meant the most to them! As a mother myself this story has been on my mind everyday since. I can’t comprehend the situation or imagine the paralyzing pain and sadness they now have to endure. I have made the decision to Donate the 20% of all nail trimming proceeds over the last month to the go fund me below to help the 2 remaining boys financially (to not only bury their family members in the way they want)to also help with any living expenses they may need to cover. Thank you to all who booked appointments this month which have contributed to this donation!! I am asking if you’re fortunate enough to have some extra & can find it in your heart to make a donation that will support these 2 boys (skipping a Starbucks drink or two) I have attached the link to donate to the families Go fund me below! Breast Cancer Awareness Month can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s a trigger, for the Trucompanion family it’s near and dear to our hearts, as we remember those we’ve personally seen overcome & those we’ve personally lost to the courageous battle of this terrible form of cancer! We stand with those who are currently fighting the battle of this disease and give our heartfelt gratitude for those who have overcome this disease that are currently getting a second chance at life!

31 days in the fall of 🎀pink-ribbon🎀 is a daily reminder of a disease that has forever changed so many families lives! For others, Oct is a chance to show their support for the more than 2 million women & men around the world who are diagnosed with the disease each year!!! This pink reminder includes our 🐾🎀furry friends 🐾🎀 who also suffer with this disease!!

In 2024, more than 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer. There is HOPE. Advancements in early detection methods and support continue to increase the chances of survival. This is a reminder to DO YOUR BREAST EXAMS!! When caught in its earliest, localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate of breast cancer is 99%!! Understanding the goals behind the global campaign and the emotions felt by the many different people living with the disease may help you decide if and how you want to commemorate the month.
