Juju - 4.5 Month old Yorkie learning how to walk in a calmer mindset while investigating and observing the world VS reacting/barking/being nervous about random cars/people/dogs etc.
I left the audio instead of putting some popular music over it. One reason is to show how much/how little I speak to her and how I give her commands during our walk.
Often thatās a significant mjssing piece to the puzzle for dog owners.
They talk too much and confuse the dog or make them tune out completely!
Or they speak in a voice with zero inflection and are boring/ not interactive.
We have a conversation the whole walk but itās more in her language and sprinkle in the āhumanā so I can be sure she can make sense of this world and trust me.
When we are walking and I notice bigger distractions like a huge cargo truck or a dog walker (š) go by with 10 dogs, we STOP and OBSERVE. Let her process what sheās seeing. Then we move on with the same expectations of calm and attentive walking as before.
I canāt express how important it is to let your puppy WATCH whatās around them for a little bit of time and then help them move on.
