We’d like to take a moment today to say goodbye to our unforgettable frisky Floof member, Steve, who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge 🌈❤️‍🩹

Steve was known for moving to the beat of his own drum during the day, and shamelessly hunting you down for cuddles at night. He loved climbing to the tippy top of cabinets and gazing down on the lower life forms, just as much as he loved grooming, cuddling, and napping with his brother Mango.

Steve’s personality was uniquely his: his fearless attitude remains unmatched, and no matter the trouble he got in, the killer combination of his sweet face and warm, open-hearted snuggles were more than enough to absolve him of any crime.

We are so lucky we got to experience Steve in all his cheeky, fiesty glory. His life was spent fully loved, adored, and cared for by his amazing parents and his floof siblings.

Steve, you are completely unforgettable. We can imagine you now rolling your eyes at us crying at your loss, which just makes us cry and miss you more. Thank you for always being yourself, and for all the laughs, cozy cuddles, and usain bolt-worthy escapes that made sure we were never short on lively adventures 💛 You are so very loved and missed.

Slowwww blinks for our sitter of the month ✨KATHRYN✨

We learned all about the special bond between her adopted cats, why she pet sits, and her #1 best tip for other sitters!

1️⃣ Do you have your own pets? Tell us about them!
“I do have pets! I adopted sibling kittens from Austin Humane Society when I first moved to Austin, and while I did have to say goodbye to my soul kitty Ralphie this past spring, his sister Mona is still by my side (literally, at all times). Ralphie and Mona were so sweet together; I highly recommend adopting bonded animals!”

2️⃣ Why did you become a Floof Club sitter?
“I pet sit because as a pet mom, I understand the anxiety of leaving your baby behind. I love sending glamour shots with the updates so that clients know that their pets are not only getting the bare minimum care of being fed and let out to potty, but also receiving lots of love!”

3️⃣ What’re your go-to activities when you’re not hanging with floofs?
“When I’m not pet-sitting (or doing schoolwork), I love to go on nature walks, watch film and television (both good AND bad), and cook for friends! It’s so fun to start without a recipe and try to make something unique and tasty, and it’s a nice way to express care for others.”

4️⃣ What’s your best tip for other sitters?
“My #1 tip for other sitters is to be patient, especially with shy animals! Every creature has different needs and personalities, and while we all love those social butterfly pets, it’s so rewarding when you know you’ve earned their trust. I remember one client who was worried that his dog would be skittish and unfriendly because of his past, but after a few mealtimes and cautious hand sniffs, he relaxed and turned into a total snuggle bug.”

And this month, the kitties are throwing claws! ⚔️😼

In this cornerrrr 🔈💥we have Beeps 💪🏼 Don’t look too long, rumor has it his ice cold stare can turn you to stone! 🥶 Yikes! Beep’s Gaze of Hate can be triggered by all sorts of ridiculous behaviors, including calling him his real name (Richard Parker), trying to give him his life saving meds, or walking into the same room as him — it might just be the last thing you do! 🥊

And in the THIS corner 🔈💥 >>>> we have lover boy Grover — his heart of gold can melt the doubt any nay-sayer! 💛 But don’t let that sweet face fool you: Grover’s arsenal of attacks include Mighty Whisker Tickles, the Endless Purr of Madness, and the Infamous Love Boop finisher! 🙀

With these two alley cats going head-to-head, it’s going to be a close one🤺

Happy hops for our Floof of the Month: 🤎River!🤎

Likes: spotting critters on her walks 👀
Dislikes: squirrels that don’t want to say hi 🙋‍♀️
Go-to floof service: 1 hr sunset walks! 🌅

River’s a good natured lady with a big, loving heart that’s always wide open and curious! 💕 While her mom works hard as a night shift nurse, River gets to spend her evenings showing our Floof sitters around the neighborhood. Her ideal walk includes lots of sniffing, a hearty amount of exploration, and patiently posing for pictures in front of pretty flowers 🌸🌺🌷(ok, maybe we like that last part more than she does 🤪)

BUT 😔 with every great walk comes its great quests…

⚔️🐿️ SQUIRRELS 🐿️⚔️ River has a very love/hate (heavy on the hate) relationship with these guys; are they tiny dogs? Why won’t they say hi? What are they hiding in those trees? She has yet to bridge the communication gap, but until then, we’ll help her keep a healthy distance from these “mysterious” critters 🤎💛🧡

River, we absolutely adore you! You’re the sweetest girl with the biggest heart, and I’m sure one day a squirrel will see that and become your furry friend 🐿️💕

Here's the highlights:⁠
🏠️Our sitters set up your home as their "base," and aren't away for longer than you feel comfortable with your floofs being alone. This ensures they are readily available for feedings, treats, walks, and allllll the snuggle and play time in between. ⁠
⏰️Our typical check-in (5pm) & check-out (11am) times can be adjusted to better suit your needs, but are based around the average Floof's feeding schedule. This allows the sitter enough time to finish off your pet's night/morning routines and clean up before heading out!⁠
🌟In 2024, we had 587 overnights! While other petsitting services might have owners book both an overnight AND a drop in during the day, our flexible service helps to minimize the amount of bookings and scheduling specifications (so you can spend more brain space on your vacay or work trip!)⁠
🐶Overnights can especially help floofs that might get anxious in daycares, kennels, or around other animals. While floofs are always sad to see their owners go, staying in a familiar place with their family's scents helps them adjust to their own mini-vacation! Our sitters always aim to maintain your pet's normal routine and environment, with an extra dose of love and attention 💞
