Cucumber is back at the vet today because his leg wound is looking concerning and he’s not wanting to put weight on that leg as much. We’ll let you know what they say. 🫶

Hemi and Jimmy are pit mixes that are around a year old. They are currently living outdoors. With winter approaching, they would love to have an indoor foster home to keep them warm and safe. If you don’t have cats and can offer them a cozy place to stay, we’d be so grateful for your help!

***VET REPORT: PRIM***

Age: 10-12 months
Weight: 37lbs
Heartworm: NEGATIVE
Intestinal worms: NEGATIVE

Today: got microchipped, shots including rabies and bordatella, and a general exam

Noted a small area of hair loss but no indication of ringworm under lights- likely due to conditions prior to trapping.

Getting antibiotics due to some discharge that the vet wants to be sure doesn’t indicate the beginning of a uterine infection. An ultrasound didn’t show anything concerning.

Plan: begin antibiotics, schedule spay sooner rather than later to eliminate pyometra concerns all together.

She is also looking for a foster home especially during her spay recovery as she is currently housed outside. If you’re able to provide an indoor spot for her to recover after her spay surgery for 10 days please let us know. Thank you 🫶

Phoenix was trying out a new ear style this morning! She is so sweet! So smart, and so trainable! She sits for treats and goes potty outside and walks great on a leash. She’s been great with my cats and my other dogs. She has puppy energy but hasn’t been a barker or anything like that and hasn’t torn anything up. 🥹 once she’s healed up she’s going to be quite the catch for a lucky family!

Still super weird but amazing that this happened to one of our puppies. We’re so happy for Graham Cracker! And we’re so thankful to The Bond Between and Debbie Nash and Polly Shore for making it happen 🥹

An Arkansas dog that was being fostered by star Pink has been officially adopted by the singer.

Buster’s revision procedure on his amputation site went well today! His incision looks so much better. He was also able to be neutered today while he was under anesthesia so he doesn’t have to do that a separate time. His foster mom said he’s getting around great on 3 legs. ❤️

Excuse the baby talk but he just is too adorable I can’t resist. This morning when I got up to feed, water, and scoop there was frost on the ground. I know it’s just the first of many mornings like that ahead. Kovu is 10 years old which is elderly. November is senior dog month. I’ve been letting Prim decompress this past week. She loves other dogs but has been scared to death of being touched by a human. She has a vet appointment tomorrow so I brought her into the garage tonight and am taking advantage of having her in a smaller quieter space to bond. HOORAY!!! Pepper was TERRIFIED and in fight mode to protect her puppies including snapping and growling. There were times we definitely were concerned about her possibly hurting us but rescue is about calculated risks and steadfast determination to push through the hard times. And look at this magic that happened this morning. Check out Pia making it clear to her foster mom that she needs to go potty. She boops the door handle and looks back to make sure she has her attention. One of our awesome volunteers went out today and took most of our outside dogs on a walk. Prim isn’t ready to be leashed yet but she’s reacting excitedly whenever she is approached. She seems to really be interested in the other dogs. Nate let her and Tank visit for a bit! Huge thank you to Nate for spending time with the dogs when I’m not able to. There are just not enough hours in the day and I’m grateful to know they got some attention this morning!
