In honor of Black Cat Appreciation Day, meet Twilight and Maew Ying!

These bonded cuties are ready to enjoy the good life in a home that has enough love for the both of them 💕 They were found with partially embedded collars that had been on them since they were kittens. We're not sure what their story is but we know that their future will be full of love, sunny windows, and lots of playtime of course!

Maew Ying is an incredibly sweet girl who lives up to the Siamese stereotype of being a super social and vocal cat. Instead of a normal meow, Maew has the cutest little trills and leaves the talking to her pal, Twilight. She’s a huge fan of cat toys and especially loves when her foster mom waves the cat wand around!

Twilight is the embodiment of playfulness and affection. He’s always the first to greet you at the door and is a talkative fella who enjoys spending quality time with his human. Twilight and Maew Ying like to take turns deciding who gets to sit in their foster mom’s lap while the other snuggles up next to her.

Maew Ying and Twilight are bonded and have requested to be adopted together. Don't forget to fill out an adoption application on our website for these two! We promise you won't regret it.

We need fosters. It is as simple as that.

As a rescue, we receive hundreds of intake requests a week. These are just a handful of the requests we received yesterday. While we work hard to save as many as we can, we simply can't help as many as we'd like to without fosters. We need you to help us find people interested in fostering with us in or around the Austin and Houston areas!

Regardless of your experience, we can walk you through the entire process and even get you set up with some starter supplies if you're wanting to give fostering a try! By fostering a cat in need, you can become the difference between a life on the streets and a life in a loving home. Whether it's applying to foster with us, encouraging people you know to foster with us, or simply sharing this post to spread the word, we need your help to be able to save more lives.

Transformation Tuesday!

Meet Fork and Knife. We were contacted about these kitties found fending for themselves on the streets of Houston. Despite being in terrible condition, they were purring up a storm the minute they arrived at their foster home. Their eyes were swollen shut due to an eye infection, they were covered in fleas and to top it all off, they had a horrible upper respiratory infection. With medication, lots of love and several baths, they began to look and feel much better! While Fork has found his forever home, Knife is still on the hunt for hers! Don’t let her name fool you! She is a laid back girl with unique markings and captivating, light-colored eyes. Their Siamese sibling, Spoon, had his own amazing transformation that we’ll be sharing in a few weeks, so keep an eye out for that.

We are not able to help kitties like these without donations from our lovely supporters. Know that when you make a donation or engage with our social media posts, you are directly helping us give kitties like Fork and Knife a life-changing transformation.

*Update: Princess found her forever home and is already the queen of her new castle!*

It's time to announce our PetSmart Cat(s) of the Week 🎉

Princess is a fluffy and petite Calico Siamese who is eager to find her forever home where she can be the purrfect companion! She is a curious, easy going lap cat who is content with hanging out with you while you work, watch TV, or read. She’ll even help you type up a report but we can’t guarantee that it will make much sense. Princess absolutely loves playing with her bird on a string (she told us to mention that she’s really good at it) and is also a fan of hide and seek! She would make a wonderful only cat but could also integrate into a household with other cats once boundaries are established. We don’t think this cutie will last long, so make sure to submit an adoption application today!

Rory was found as a stray living on the streets of Houston and captured with the intent to TNR (trap, neuter, release) her back to a feral cat colony. It was quickly discovered that she is visually impaired and very friendly, making her unlikely to survive if released back onto the streets. We were contacted to help get her adopted into a safe, loving home and after hearing her story, we knew we couldn’t say no.

Rory is generally a calm kitty who enjoys crawling on your lap, burying her head in your arms, and purring. She’s a fan of cat toys, especially small mice, and will carry them around with her everywhere. She also enjoys sitting in front of the window and watching the birds. Rory really loves cuddles and purrs loudly when she starts to feel safe with her human. Due to her poor eyesight, Rory is a little shy at first and is startled if you reach for her without alerting her of your presence first. This is very common with visually impaired kitties and we have found that after some bonding time, the cat becomes comfortable in their home and is less easily startled. Rory is searching for an understanding adopter who will provide her plenty of cuddles and mice toys. If you are interested in adopting Rory, please fill out an adoption application on our website!

These seven stray kittens were rescued from a filthy boat engine after their mom was killed by a coyote and they were left to fend for themselves against other predators. Luckily, an amazing good samaritan pulled them out and made sure they were safe before reaching out to us for help. We are overflowing with cats and it is the middle of kitten season, but we knew we couldn’t say no to helping these precious orphan kitties. So join us in welcoming Silver Moon, Starry, Night, Asteroid, Crescent Moon, Galaxy, Moondust and Buddha!

During their vet visit, it was discovered that Silver Moon has a reducible umbilical hernia. While it can be repaired with surgery, the vet bills for this litter are adding up and we need your help. It costs us over $200 per kitten to complete basic vetting (spay/neuter, rabies, FVRCP, dewormer, and microchip) and the cost only increases when kitties, like Silver Moon, require special vetting. Donations are always appreciated and allow us to help orphan kitties like this litter.

It's time to announce our PetSmart Cat(s) of the Week 🎉

Meet Dishwasher and Crockpot! These darling, fluffy tuxedo kitties are our newest kitties in the cattery and have already won over the hearts of all the staff and volunteers. Dishwasher has 4 white mittens with matching white whiskers and he is a bundle of playful energy. His fluffy sister, Crockpot, has a more laid back demeanor but will pounce and wrestle with Dishwasher during playtime. They have been fostered with dogs, cats, and kids, so they are extremely socialized and lovable kitties! They would love to be adopted together but can be adopted separately to a home that already has a playful feline friend.

Zeke was too busy watching the fireworks yesterday to remind us to post his festive outfit pics! 🎆

Zeke is a recent intake who came to us very underweight and with a severe infection. He's been a champ at taking his antibiotics and eating high calorie food to get him to his ideal weight. Despite his rough start in life, Zeke has been nothing but sweet and loving to everyone he meets! He isn't quite ready for adoption yet but we are accepting applications now for when he is. We are so excited to introduce Delilah, a gorgeous and petite little Lynx Point Siamese who is on the hunt for her forever home! She’s new to our rescue but we can already tell that she’s an absolute love muffin and extremely social. Delilah is a super sweet lady whose love language is being loved on and petted. We are eager to get to know Delilah more and help her find a loving home that will supply her with unlimited head scratches.

Meet Wish! You can wish upon the star on her chest or all the little ones sprinkled in her fur. She is a friendly lady who loves belly rubs and head scratches. You would think she’s part Siamese with how social she is! She enjoys laying down right next to you and could happily spend hours keeping you company. This silly kitty will even sleep on your pillow at night to help you count sheep and ward off any bad dreams. Her only wish is to find a forever home!

You may remember Dobby, the kitty found in a rural auto body shop that was trapped and picked up by one of our amazing fosters! He has settled into his foster home extremely well, constantly playing with the other kitties and the never ending catnip toys. He was even curious about the dogs and only puffed up one time when meeting them. He’s proven to be a super sweet and playful kitty who enjoys lounging in the pet beds after playing with his foster siblings.

From his sweet demeanor to his gorgeous eyes, Dobby is the perfect kitty for someone wanting a friendly feline companion. We’re convinced Dobby continues to get cuter by the minute and are shocked that he hasn’t been adopted yet! Help Dobby find his forever home by sharing this post with friends and family 🩷

We have a special story to share that will surely brighten your day 🐱 11 years ago, Cynthia adopted a Blue Point Siamese kitten from us when he was just a baby fluffball. She reached out recently with an update and boy is it one for the books!

We know what you’re thinking - WOW phone cameras have come a long way in the last decade 😹 Jinxy went from a tiny, puffy cotton ball to a gentle, long-haired giant. While he still has the same stunning blue eyes, the coloring around the center of his face and the tips of his ears has darkened to give him that classic Blue Point look. It is updates like this that remind us why we do what we do.

We don’t always have the perfect solution for every kitty we’re asked to help. With our fosters up to their ears in cats and the requests for help continuing to pour in, we simply aren’t able to help without more fosters. Razz is one of those special cases that pulled at our heartstrings and we knew we couldn’t do nothing. So, we came up with a way for y’all to help us with finding this cat his forever home!

Razz (aka Raspy or Razzington) recently lost his elderly owner and is currently living on his own with visitors checking in on him. He is a sweet Seal Point Siamese who loves nothing more than spending time with people and getting loved on. Siamese are very social cats and Razz lives up to this stereotype. He’s always lounging nearby, simply enjoying being in the presence of people. He is seven years young and an absolute doll. I mean just look at that face! Razz has lived in a single-cat household his entire life but we think that he would be open to a companion if introduced correctly. As long as he is given lots of love and affection, he’s a happy boy.

We are hoping that this post will reach someone looking to adopt him or someone willing to foster him until a forever home is found. Interested in adopting this gorgeous fella? This loving girl is looking for a forever home to call her own! Say hello to Miso and Dashi, a dynamic mother-daughter duo who have recently been returned to our rescue and are looking for their new furever home. Miso is a quiet-time cuddler, seeking affection when the home is calm, and loves to lap sit and snuggle up at bedtime. She's food motivated, often acting as your shadow in the kitchen, and occasionally even sneaks tortillas from the pantry!

Her mom, Dashi, had a rough start in life but has blossomed into a loving companion who will never turn down pets or belly rubs. Like Miso, Dashi likes to cuddle at bedtime and will purr louder than a Ferrari! Dashi is a little timid with new people (who isn't?) but is food motivated and warms up quickly when treats are involved.

Say hello to TomTom! This sweet, handsome boy was owner-surrendered due to no fault of his own and we are now on the hunt to find his forever home. TomTom absolutely loves the company of other cats and would love to be adopted by someone that has a furry friend for him to spend time with. He is a gentle, quiet cat who would thrive in a calm home where he can relax and learn how to trust again. TomTom’s searching for someone with a heart of patience that will give him the time he needs to acclimate and become comfortable in his new home. This sweet boy is a sucker for cat treats (especially Churu) and will no doubt blossom into the most loyal, loving companion a person could ask for!

Say hello to one of our newest intakes Dobby! We were alerted about this little fella being given away for free after being dumped at a rural auto shop. Of course, we jumped into action and contacted the shop owner who was happy to surrender him to us. The owner said Dobby had been hanging around the shop for a few days but always disappeared into thin air whenever somebody tried to catch him. Eventually, they were able to trap him and posted him on Facebook. Dobby is now safe with us at his foster home where he was given the ultimate spa experience. He was an absolute angel during his bubble bath and was so happy to get rid of all those fleas and dirt! Meet Purrnama! This friendly gentle giant could never get tired of neck scratches and walks right up to you when he's ready for some love (which is all the time). He's 5 years young and is a big boy who does well with other cats, dogs, and even kids! Purrnama is a sucker for toys and loves to show off his playing skills - see the video below. After tiring himself out, he loves to curl up for a nap near his human.

Happy Mother's Day from our moms to yours! Help us raise $1,200 for mama cats this Mother's Day 😺

With kitten season ramping up, we have recently taken several mama cats with kittens into the rescue. It is through donations from supporters like you that we are able to help cats like Amira and her kitties. The average cost of fully vetting a family like this is upwards of $1,000. In order to continue taking in other mama cats like Amira, we are asking for help in covering the vetting cost of one cat family in our rescue.

Adoptions have been slow but our amazing fosters are still trying to take in cats. During this time, Cheesecake and Mark, both with a tough past and from different cities, have become BEST FRIENDS! They both love to snuggle and groom together. Mark is a little shy and unsure and Cheesecake is more adventurous and likes to explore. She has really helped him to feel more comfortable and safe 🧡
Cheesecake and Mark are both young Flame point siamese. Cheesecake is a female flame, about 2 years old and has a deeper flame coloring. Mark is about a year old and has a creamier coat color and both have bright blue eyes.
We would love for this new found friendship to continue into a forever home!

This young, gorgeous flame point siamese is Mr.Goofy and he is ready for adoption!

Mr. Goofy is full of personality and will keep you laughing with his silly self! He is the sweetest cat in the whole world. He is playful, friendly, healthy, kind , and smart and will love you from day one!

Goofy loves EVERY human being, but he is not fond of cats. He needs to be an only cat and will definitely be his humans best friend!

Happy National Kitten Day! Here is a little video of kittens playing, socializing and having a little morning fun! This is why we LOVE kittens being adopted in pairs, they have so much fun ❤

A little Saturday morning cuteness! This little lynx loves playing Peek-a-boo 💜 This little girl was dumped in a box and left on the side of the road with 12 other baby kittens. They were left in the Texas sun with no food, no water and no one around. We got these babies into safety. They got bathes, fleas combing and much needed hydration and food. They are now thriving, growing and socializing with our caring foster!

Boy oh Boy do we need a foster for this pregnant girl. She had a foster but that foster is taking others. Help! Kitty is in Houston but we can look for transport to Austin area.
