he’s big, he’s pretty, he’s sound, & sane! only being offered privately for a few more days before being consigned to a sale. his original ad—> Casey is here on consignment because he wants more of a job than his owner can provide. he is an 18 year old TWH gelding with a good set of papers, he stands right at 15.1 hands tall, he is broke the best, he trail rides, he’s traffic safe, and he’s comfortable in an arena setting. He would be a cool horse to do fun shows on. More go than woah. He’s been here about 2 months and hasn’t made a wrong step. All known info from his owner and his papers will be in the pictures. Located in Austinville Va p-m- us to set up a time to come look at him.

Rocky is a 13 year old, 14.3 hand tall red roan gelding. He is UTD on all vaccines, dental work, & has a negative coggins. He stands for the farrier, hauls, ties, loads, stalls, & overnights all easily & quietly. A true gentleman on the ground & a typical businessman under saddle. This is a fun little horse that needs a job! He’s a little too much for his owner so we have him on consignment looking for someone who needs a good using horse. He is quirky & he will try you. we can’t share this enough!! do right by your horses & discipline them 🙂

Please stop rewarding bad behavior and babying a 1200 pound animal. We get a lot of horses in training where people give you a long list of “behaviors” that they are justifying as playful and not disrespectful.. When in fact they are disrespectful.

Cookies and sedation are the two biggest enemies in this world. Stop sedating your horse for every stressful situation THEY WILL NEVER LEARN. Sedation is a helpful tool under circumstances, but not under “my horse gets nervous for the farrier” “there was fireworks” Desensitize your horse and teach it right from wrong, it is disrespectful..

It is not cute when your horse puts its open mouth on your arm trying to ask for a treat. It is not cute when your horse is pawing to china in a cross tie because it has no patience. Sadly, it is the humans fault NOT the horses. Too many horses have now been turned dangerous with a bad reputation becasue that is what a human once taught that horse was acceptable.

When I’m working a horse in the round pen, or saddling, or just grooming I want that horse to look at me as a teammate, NOT as a vending machine. Pockets full of treats to head in to “work” your horse is not achieving anything other than making yourself look like a life size carrot. After your workout, there is nothing wrong with a treat to reward a successful day, but don’t revolve your exercise around it.

As a community we need to be better. The saying “they just don’t make them like that anymore” is wrong in the horse world, they do make them like that and they are being ruined in the wrong hands..

Studly came to get the dust knocked off & his attitude under control. We are very proud to say that he’s going home with a head full of knowledge & a better understanding of what his human will be asking of him. He has been my(kassidy) favorite of the barn for a while now, I’ll definitely miss this one. ❤️ with that being said we have a stall open if anyone has an equine related issues that needs worked out. P M us. We hope everyone has a relaxing labor day!

Ace came with a few issues and as an older horse he is pretty set in his ways. We worked really hard to get this out of him and hope his owner gets to enjoy him as much as we did! Horses like him really test us as riders and we personally don’t mind having problem horses to keep us in check😉 We have an open stall if we can help with any equine related issues just shoot us a message!

Social media isn’t really our thing, i’m sure you can tell that by how inactive we are on this page, but horses are our thing and we have *limited* training spots available. Let us knock the dust off your horses before summer is here! We offer ⤵️
-halter breaking/ ground work~ it’s important to have good control and a solid foundation on these babies before they get too big.
-c**t starting~ starting with desensitizing, going at the c**t’s pace, they need a minimum of 30 days to get a good solid start under saddle, but we suggest up to 90 days on c**ts.
-consignment horses~ Need a horse sold but don’t have the time to ride/promote? We will ride the horse and promote it for you until it sells. We often travel to horse sales and know tons of people in the horse industry, so we can get the word out in no time.
-general miles and experience~ Horses will be ridden on New River Trail, mountain trails and on public roads, giving the real outdoor experience that they need to thrive. They also can be hauled to local arenas.
-problem horses~ Owners must be willing to rule out all pain related issues prior to sending the horse, but we will take most any horse as long as you’re completely honest about the issues.
-tune ups~ just one ride or any length of time you desire, it could be first ride back after being turned out or a reminder that the rider is in charge. anything you need!

Well guys we made it!!!! March marks our 1 year of going public with our training…it has been a roller coaster of a year but we truly cannot express the appreciation we have for everyone of our clients who gave us a chance as a new business, our supporters on the inside pushing us to keep going, & all of you guys sharing our posts. Word of mouth helps tremendously and we owe all the thanks in the world to y’all for making our first year in business a success. This horse has been a challenge from day 1!! He came to us overweight, spoiled, & rude. It’s been a long 90 days with this one but we can finally say that we have had a breakthrough. EK Equine is now accepting new students who want to learn how to ride/care for a horse. I would like to give a shout out to Brooklyn, our very first student, she is very willing to learn, understands that it’s not all fun, & she’s becoming a great all around rider. She is such a little super star!❤️ With one of our favorites being gone we do have room for a few training horses. Howie is the cute little blonde mane & tailed boy in the video. He came to us to be started for his young rider, he wasn’t so sure about being a grown up at first but as time went on Howie became the best little dude you could’ve asked for. Both his owner & his little girl left with smiles on their faces. 😊
We also offer pet/farm sitting.

Happy Sunday!🌞 It’s been a busy few weeks at EK Equine between horse sales, working client horses, & personal horses. With that being said, this page hasn’t gotten as much attention as we would like to give it but rest assured that these horses get worked atleast 5 if not 6 days a week & we have plenty of content to post throughout the next few weeks. The few pictures at the end of this video is of one of our favorite client horses, Joy. She came for desensitization & general miles/experience, Joy has been a pleasure to have & we are sad to see her go. Horses like her make our job fun & easy. ❤️ We hope everyone has a safe & blessed work week.

Hey guys! Quick update. We hate to turn people away but we do require a current negative coggins test to accept horses. It’s our responsibility to keep your horse and others safe and healthy while they are here at EK Equine. Having your horses up to date helps us get you in quicker and it allows us to be able to take the horses off premises for additional training. Sorry for any confusion!
