Our puppy Winnie has grown up at the shelter. She was briefly adopted but returned due to her rough and tumble play style being too much for their senior dog. Rex Jr. has spent most of his life bouncing from shelter to shelter to “forever” home to shelter to shelter due to no fault of his own. This once 12 week old puppy is now eight months old and no closer to being adopted than he was months ago. He is a super, super friendly guy that loves to run and play and is constantly wearing a big ole smile on his face! He could definitely use a little training in basic manners (sit, leash work, etc) but he seems eager to learn! Pancake and Waffle love each other so much! They were brought in together and would LOVE to be adopted together. Just look how much they love snuggling each other?! Maybe calling him a land-hippo in his is first post wasn't the best choice of words. How about, "does this sweater make Rex look fat?"
Not trying to shame him, just pointing out the obvious. Rex doesn't mind the tight fit, he's happy & self confident and thinks he looks quit snazzy. What do you think? We are hoping to find him a new home that will work with him on his 2024 resolution and help him lose weight. Call the shelter to meet him 817-752-2681

Did your wish for a HIPPOPOTAMUS for Christmas go unfulfilled? Well here at the animal shelter we can hook you up….with your very own land hippo! Meet Rex! This boy is around 4 years old and a Pitbull mix weighing in at 82 pounds…now he does have some “holiday weight” but there is always time for New Year’s resolutions to lose weight later…right now he just wants a loving, forever family to call his own! Ladies the rumors are true, this charming bachelor is still available! "Lucky" is waiting for you, come see him Monday!!

Gunner was abandoned at a local park and has been with us for 53 days. He's a large mixed breed (probably husky/retriever). He is barely a year old, fully vetted, neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He's a big goof ball and his only Christmas wish is to have a home. One with a yard, because he loves to play fetch! He loves to play in water too. Sadly he has had zero interest. Zero phone calls. Zero visitors. Zero. As each day passes you can see the light dim in his stunningly beautiful eyes. Please help us find this goofy-goober a home by Christmas by sharing his post. His adoption fee has been waived.

Erik Rowan

Erik loves scratching on his scratching post, just like his brothers. When you are raised in foster care, you learn how cool these scratchers are to use. Erik has a white spot on his back and on the tip of his tail, which is the easiest way to tell him apart from his brothers.
