We are beyond excited to introduce our new filly! “Kissed By Misty Starlyte”
This girl will complete our future riding & broodmare herd. She is exactly what we were looking for. Not only is she EEaaRnRnCr (single cream from her dam) she carries my favorite blood—this filly is a granddaughter to our beloved Misty.

This c**t is something else.
At 4 months old, Mohawk stands 13.3h tall (I couldn’t believe it). He is very mature looking & quiet. He looks a lot like his half sister—Misty.

We will be welcoming our newest prospect home next month: Giles’ Raining Skye Kingfisher.
Aka MOHAWK (after his big brother Modoc).
He is EE aa & full of endless potential.
This c**t is VERY special. Not only is he a half brother to Modoc (same sire—Skye) but he is out of Rain who is also the mother of our beloved Misty.
Misty is the exact mare I strive to create.
A great mare is worth far more than any stud & Rain is a prolific mare. All her foals are stamped with her lovely head, huge bone & kind eyes. They all just have “the look.” I could not be any happier with this c**t.
Creating & collecting stock that we think best represent the breed & our own riding requirements is difficult. Last month I made the decision to sell my Modoc & current stallion prospect. It was not because of his mind—he was an absolute delight & I’d never started an easier c**t. Our 3 pillars of Giles Ranch II are disposition, gait & height. Those 3 requirements are that, requirements. Modoc now lives back in Washington with a family who will love & use him as a riding gelding. He will be put to the test & excel when they elk hunt. I couldn’t be more proud of him & his new family. “A good stud makes a great gelding.”

Farrier was out yesterday & our youngest filly, Comanche was fantastic. She is so curious & friendly.
Today the girls enjoyed some turn out on our shady paddock.
Winter coats are coming off—Misty leads the pack for most slicked off.

Today Modoc hit the trails—prepared for success.
I am biased but this 22 month old stallion—excelled. Carrying his saddle, ponied behind 2 mares he acted like he was a pro.
I also sat on him for the first time with no hesitation or fiasco. I just think he’s something else.

Farrier day: everyone got a trim except Comanche.
She is still learning to stand.
Modoc did a little lunging, played with the flag & stood after his feet were done. He is 15.2h at 19 months.
Gwen, Misty & Cherokee had their shoes pulled since our heavy riding season is over.
Everyone was dirty but happy.

This was Kole’s first trip with Misty Crow—the newest addition to our herd. She is a fantastic mare & we are ecstatic to have her.
My mother-in-law rode Gwen—she would never allow us to leave her home.

We head to Washington October 6th & will be bringing Comanche & another SPECTACULAR mare home.

Comanche will begin her weaning next week. This filly is tall - standing next to her 15.3h mamma, Aspyn. Her sire is Cruise With The Limo, a heratige 17h TWHBEA stallion.
We can’t wait to make our trip up north this October. We will also be bringing home another mare but that’s a surprise for this fall🤍

We had a great ride at Heaven's Gate RV and Retreat. Did not cover as many miles because of the heat, but there were frequent water stops for the horses & we enjoyed our fellowship. Kole loves my Steele Saddle by Custom Tree & Saddle. He’ll be ordering one when we get his new riding mare this fall.

My Modoc is 1 year old today.
He is maturing in his face & his eyes are perfectly quiet. We are so proud & look forward to him achieving his full potential as our stallion prospect.

We are proud to introduce Giles’ Agigage Cruiser AKA Comanche. Agigage is red in Cherokee.
Born on Resurrection Sunday.
This big red filly foaled perfectly & hasn’t fallen since she stood up. She is expected to be 17h & will be Kole’s mount when the time comes.
Thank you Walkers on Water. She’s perfect.

Sweet Lakota has come a long way.
Her body condition is still under but SO much better. Her winter coat slicked off so well & we’ve started a topline supplement to get some good muscle growth.

Lakota did great today!!!
Gwen & I ponied her for a couple miles at LBJ Grasslands. I wanted to see how much exposure with trails she had. Either she had a lot before or she’s very easy going. Either way I win! Her personality is very willing & she’s already come a long way with trusting me. She has a bright future here at Giles Ranch II.
Every winter Gwen grows a winter coat fit for a horse in the frozen tundra. Today it was almost 80 so the sweat was real. Clipping is in her future if Texas has a warm winter.

Project horses are a passion of mine. I love watching a horse reach their full potential & receive the attention they deserve.
Lakota, once back in shape is going to be a sweet addition to my herd. She’s a wonderful, dedicated mamma who deserves the care she gives.
She got her teeth done, a soundness exam & we had X-rays & ultrasound done on her front feet because she is pretty upright. Now we begin the process of building a bond, getting in shape & getting those feet under control. I have a good feeling about her🤍

Logged 6.2mi today in some amazing Texas weather. We have a small trip coming up at the end of December, so trying to keep riding horses in shape.
Everyday is a good day on the back of a horse.

My parents came to visit & Modoc met his grandparents 😍 We showed them all of our tricks. Modoc gives so well to pressure. Just a little coax & he instantly does what I ask. Here he stepped up & then calmly stepped back down when asked. I’m so pleased with him.
