OMG! Our ducky is on the way to NC State! ♥️🙏
Rescue life is not for everyone because just one phone call can change your entire day! Little Marilyn Monroe arrived just the other night with a badly fractured leg. Yesterday evening she left the office of an avian vet as he referred us to an orthopedic surgeon at NC State.
This afternoon we got a call from NC State sharing they could see Marilyn immediately and possibly take her into surgery! A slight panic attack went through my body. 😳 We all are at work; how can we get her to NC State and not miss this incredible opportunity? 😬
Marilyn’s leg was recently fractured, and her healing chances would be so much higher if the fracture was repaired asap.
We didn’t expect to get in so fast, and with both sanctuary directors working full time jobs, we scrambled as we simply could not miss this opportunity and so a volunteer graciously offered to make a long drive and transport our injured duck friend to the hospital. Thank you, Carla! 🙏
It was shared that there will be numerous teams working on Marilyn Monroe! She will get a workup prior to surgery and if the vet team feels she is stable, they will proceed with surgery either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. ♥️🙏
We are looking at several thousand dollars! 😬 🦆 But I know we are doing what’s right!
Will you help us cover this life changing surgery?
