Meet Zoey one of our newest surrenders. Zoey is a green iguana who was found running down the canals in oildale. She got taken in and rehabbed by a person who did a phenomenal job but could no longer care for her so she’s here with us. She laid a clutch of eggs and regrew her tail while in his care. She’s taking her time settling in but I’m sure she will enjoy the new amount of space.

Pepper is making progress but we have an outstanding bill of 200$. She’s been getting repeat Enimas for the past three weeks. We also have to have her go under anesthesia to have the blockage removed. That will cost about 500$. If you have anything to spare pepper could use it. We appreciate every one of you. Zaynes tail amputation site is not healing quite as it should. I believe he needs to start antibiotics and his appointment at our reptile specialists veterinarian is tomorrow at 315

Todays vet visit with pepper:

No real results of any poo coming out. Pepper is getting repeating enimas daily at the vet which is $40 a enima. She will continue doing this routine until she passes everything out, and so far not much luck.

Our phenomenal vet is very reasonably priced but dang is it adding up driving back and forth. After she passes p**p she’ll be getting another xray.

If you have anything to spare, pepper would dearly appreciate it. She wants/needs this for relief! She’s very loved here and we are all praying for her!

PEPPER UPDATE-
Yesterday’s vet visit includes 12ccs of KY jelly inserted around and above the blockage and additional fluids. We got a tiny bit out and she came home and is now back today to try and get her to completely cleaned out.

Got to visit pepper at the vet. They were able to get a small amount of f***s out. Hopefully next enima in about an hour...

Pluto has developed a fungal infection and respiratory infection. This is my baby boy. We are so worried. He’s started and antifungal orally and oral antibiotics with an antibiotic shot at the vet today. Please pray for my boy. I’m worried sick. We have some fun news we’ve been waiting to share to make sure they were well established. Did you know box turtles can retain sperm for up to 4 years? The female rescues laid clutches i didn’t know about in their outdoor home. Welcome to the world little ones! They are doing phenomenal. Fun fact, there’s two mothers! And we don’t even own the fathers! We have 3 hatchling ornate box turtles and one 3 toed box turtle. We presume the ornates are older as they can hatch and then burmate until proper weather conditions encourages them to come up. Jackie was laid in hard dirt and couldn’t dig out. She’s my little miracle. I actually removed her from her egg!(yolk was already absorbed.) We’re so excited to share their lives with you. They can lay clutches ranging from 1-11 eggs approximately.

Pepper has still not pooped. She’s going to be kept for the day at the vet Monday for multiple enimas until she defecates. Peppers vet visit two days ago. She is very constipated

Minnie’s appointment went better than expected. X-rays show the left from arm is more affected by the MBD than the rest of the body. With proper diet and calcium and uvb she should start growing and strengthening herself.

BELLONA UPDATE- we went into our vet for a possible body cavity injection but he told us that those do not come without risk. He was so impressed by her improvement from sub Q fluids and syringe feeding that he wants me to just continue the fluids under the skin. He believes she should make a full recovery. She has also begun panacur, a dewormer, since this is all parasite related.

GORBAX UPDATE- i diagnosed him pretty spot on. Gorbax does NOT have ADV and he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, MBD, and a moderate respiratory infection. He has started the antibiotics already. He will continue on serrapaste and CBD for the dystrophy. Doc believes he’ll have a good life.
