I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and sorry for the lack of posts… It's been quite chaotic these last couple weeks but we had an amazing adoption over the holiday! Chancey who was dumped in orchard in Bakersfield several months ago, was adopted to one of our repeat adopters! She is a huge Shepherd fanatic and this girl was absolutely the perfect fit for her home after they had lost a beloved family member recently… Chancey snuck her way into their hearts and has been an angel since day one! We are so happy for her and the future that lies ahead!

The sky here in Texas is gray and dismal… Much like my mood…
It breaks my heart writing this because I really didn't think I would have to do so...
Casper went into surgery yesterday at 2:30 PM… Things went fantastic and the doctor was amazed at how well he did under anesthesia they were able to close him up and the tumor was encapsulated within a muscle sheath that made it for easy removal… And when I say "easy" that's relatively speaking… The surgery took three hours And he woke up and everyone was thrilled with the results… I got a text message saying that he had done very well- surgery was successful and while it was an aggressive tumor, it seemed to be isolated and he felt very confident that he was able to get everything… I started asking a few specific questions and the text messages went silent… My phone rang then.…
It was the vet and he was standing in front of Casper watching him in recovery. All of a sudden he just stopped breathing. He believes that Casper threw a clot and died instantly. There was no chance of CPR or any sort of resuscitation… It was so fast and so sudden there was nothing they could do…
When I say this was one of the most perfect creatures I've ever had the pleasure of fostering, I mean that. He was a gentle young two year-old Lab… A perfect soul with such a will to live… I just couldn't bucket list him and I wanted to give him a chance . We knew there were risks of him going into surgery, but the risk of him being taken by this aggressive mass was equal if not higher… I am heartbroken beyond words right now. It's just so unfair… He was such a good boy and such a perfect dog.he got such a sh*tty hand I will never forget his sweet smile and demeanor… His happy Tail wag and zest for life...
I would like to thank everyone who helped with his case and donated and prayed over him… Your thoughts prayers and donations did not go unnoticed and I sincerely appreciate the support.

RIP Sweet Casper… You will be welcomed with open arms at the Rainbow Bridge 🌈 🐾 💔

Please say a prayer for this boy today.... he goes in for surgery in 2 hours and there is a very high risk that the doctor won't be able to close the incision given the amount of swelling etc. He is pulling out all the stops and bringing another doctor in to assist, but there is still a very high risk, on top of his HW+ status which is another huge factor to go under anesthesia.
We have only raised about $300 toward his surgery, so if you would like to help us cover some of it, it would be extremely appreciated. Times are SO hard for rescues right now, and I know everyone is feeling the pinch... but any amount helps.. this guy is beyond perfect temperament wise. He's phenomenal with dogs, cats, kids, horses, chickens, parrots, goats and pigs... and yes he's met ALL of those!!!

Whelp.... Bad news for our sweet boy 😫
antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds were not successful.... we are worried there is a tumor there after having an ultrasound done... so the leg needs to come off... and soon!

Looking at anywhere from $800-1000 for that surgery. Putting in a request to take his nuts at the same time. But because of the heart-worms it needs to be a quick surgery! 😫 I'm stressing cause this guy is just a total love muffin.
Currently doing several treatments of PMS therapy to lessen the swelling so that we can close up the incision when the leg is removed. That is one of the major concerns our vet has right now… The swelling is so bad that he's worried he won't be able to close it up once he gets in there…
If you would like to help Gaspar in this next phase of recovery, please choose an option below to donate. Once the leg is off and hopefully surgery is successful, we can look at the $1500 heartworm treatment 👀😬

This whole situation is a big risk but I've got to TRY to give him this chance.... he is SO worth it!
He has been phenomenal with my kitty, my parrot, the chickens, small dogs, big dogs… You name it. He adores children and loves everybody he's ever met… Always has a happy d***y Lab smile on his face. Please help us… Thank you for your support and please share!

‼️ Update on the Lab from the crack house!!!‼️

He stayed at the vet for a few days with his bad leg. We did x-rays... take a look... 👀
You will be SHOCKED!!! I sure was!

I have added the bill and we desperately need donations.... I will also include pictures of the necessities we need for him!

He is HW+ which means 4 months of crate rest and no running around.... ☠️☠️ We are going to need a BOATLOAD of bully sticks and toys. I have added an Amazon link from the wish list:

https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1CHG1FWZH1DO3?ref_=wl_share

Also a few pics from Tractor Supply items needed. We definitely need food for him- he's SO THIN... pic added- this can be purchased on Amazon OR Tractor Supply Co. Message us for address or store for donation pick up- it's the TSC in Bartonville, Texas. I will be picking up up person- "Morgan Sokolow"

So what WAS going on with that leg of his?
Our best guess is that his leg had a bite or puncture of some sort that was never treated, became SEVERELY infected and blew up like a balloon. Because this happened the nerve in his leg and foot stopped working. He has a severe infection and cellulitis going on currently. There is no break, no dislocation!
I know... crazy right?!? So we DO have a chance to save this guy's leg, but heart worm treatment needs to happen first so he is strong enough to go under if we end up needing to amputate. The silver lining of him having heart worm is that he won't be able to undergo any sort of anesthesia for a few months, which automatically gives him time to heal and regenerate that leg, which hat we may not have waited to do if progress wasn't being made. Also, the crate rest is good for both the heart worm and the leg... he has the heart worm cough, so my assumption is that it's a pretty bad case. I just pray that we caught it early enough to fix! He's only about 1.5-2 years old and has a personality of GOLD!

So if you can help, I have attached the bill thus far for his immediate treatment. $1200 and change... then heart worm treatment will be another $1400 ☠️☠️☠️☠️
So please if you can, donate to one of the following options below. This guy is in it for the long haul and we REALLY could use your help!

UPDATE!! 10/14:
We posting an update on this handsome boy tomorrow. Hes been in medical boarding all weekend! Stay tuned as soon as we hear from vet!!!

🚨 Emergency 🚨

On our way to pick up this guy who was rescued from a crackhouse!
He was living in the backyard and not being fed or watered… Neighbors were throwing food over and trying to take care of him… Finally convinced the owners to let him go after seeing the condition of his badly broken leg… we think he got out and was hit by a car and clearly the owners were not gonna do anything about it…

We need help with vet bills! Xray, meds for infection and possible amputation depending on how bad it is… I will be doing live shortly stay tuned… If you would like to help with his care, please choose one of the following options below:

PayPal or Zelle: [email protected]

He will probably need to be boarded a few days as well in the vet wall he is being looked over… This poor guy has been through the wringer but he is safe now...

Also we need to come up with a name, so get your thinking cap on!

We had an amazing adoption over the weekend! Our very first border collie Australian Shepherd puppy left for her forever home with a veterinarian out of Santa Barbara! We are thrilled for her and can't wait to see where the others end up! We love connecting our puppies with their siblings For puppy get together! So if you haven't done so already, please go ahead and spread the word about the others so we can get them all to their forever homes soon! So excited for these babies

This right here 🙌
is the importance of rescues and fostering. We make sure our babies that are raised with us are very well socialized with allllll the things- because there will always be unexpected situations in life, and it is better to prepare them for anything any everything they may encounter, then being afraid or aversive to people or things. They play on grass, concrete, gravel- all the textures. They meet big kids, little kids, dogs, cats and livestock if available.
We try to put them in the best positions possible to be successful in their forever homes when they leave us.
That is what you are supporting when you adopt you rescue animal from Pet Matchmaker Rescue.

Penny's pups will be going up soon- so get ready!!!

Since we are on a working dog kick, we thought you guys might be interested in this beauty!

This is Remi and she is an owner surrender.
Remi is a full bred Australian shepherd that will be 4 in September. She’s been spayed and is kennel trained. She gets along with other dogs and cats. She’s good around kids. Remi is high energy and can jump fences, she needs someone that has the time and ability to train her to stay in the yard if she is going to have to spend any time outside. We do believe that she is doing that because she wasn't getting the time and energy that she needed in her previous home due to a major life change in their schedule.
She's a wonderful girl and she will make an active family very very happy! Ideally we'd like to see her go somewhere where someone is home and can give her that time and attention that she's free. Check her out on the website tonight at www.petmatchmaker.org
