Back to work with some limitations. No heavy lifting, no dog walking, or pushing/pulling heavy trash cans. The schedule is back open. If a large package needs to be brought inside I can get help so no worries.

Wedding to attend September 5th-9th.
Vacation October 27th-31st

July: KCS record setting month, and record setting week.

I have made some changes to the business recently which will improve my availability, and help continue to achieve the goal of -quality care-

Changes : No new dog clients, 5 mile radius in 11, 12, and 14 zip codes, limit of six inside cats.

I will be closing my schedule to new bookings in certain conditions: Difficulty of jobs scheduled, max 4-6 daily appointments, weather conditions such as severe heat, and my own self-care needs including needed days off. (I have dr appointments, family, and there were two very tragic moments in July including the loss of a family member) Please see month view in software for my availability.

I am throughly embarrassed
A client/friend had to run me to the ER Monday. I started having persistent chest pains.
All heart related issues were ruled out. The ER doctor said that I have an injury/severe strain to the muscles and ribs on my left side, and chest wall pain.
I will complete any scheduled bookings currently on my books, but not taking new last minute bookings through the 31st. I need a chance to recover and get additional treatment from my primary care physician.

If anything changes I will update my calendar.

Robot litter boxes, GPS pet collars, pet cameras, auto feed dispensers, and water fountains may be helpful.

It's ok to reduce the number of visits per day when you have auto feeders, but keep in mind that homes with 4+ cats need to book extended visits. Cats need enrichment time to reduce stress and anxiety. Your pet sitter also evaluates a pet's health during playtime.

Recently, a client experienced a power outage, and needed same day service. Auto feeders don't work in a power outage. Most drinking fountains don't work during power outages.

Manuals for your pet technology should be available to your sitter. Water fountains get slimy, and clogged. Robot litter boxes glitch etc....

Do your cats hide? Furbo Cameras are popular and other brands can be purchased for under $20.00.

Moon wants you to know that he needs attention and playtime to reduce separation stress/anxiety.

Also, playtime allows your pet sitter to observe health, movement, and behavior changes.

Cats can also experience depression in your absence. KCS is curently dealing with a kitty that may be experiencing extreme depression. The kitty's behavior has changed, she has become lethargic, and not eating very much. . KCS had the client speak to the kitty through the phone, and the kitty did perk up.
KCS was instructed to watch for worsening condition of this kitty and pawrent will be home soon.

KCS spent extra time with this kitty, and extended time to engage and provide extra play ( excercise) for the more rambunctious kitties in the household.

During longer vacations KCS highly recommends booking longer or additional drop-ins to help your kitties during your absence.
Have a radio on low volume that dosen't shut off.
Consider adding new toys, and stocking up on treats or enrichment items.

KCS understands that you may be on a budget, but an emergency vet run/visit costs more when a pet stops eating or drinking in your absence due to stress.

Looks and feels like a toy vacuum, but it fits in my tiny car, and it picks up litter on uncarpeted floors. It's good for upkeep. I recommend it if you don't feel like dragging out a heavy vacuum. My more expensive Shark stick vacuum does not pick up litter.
I got the idea of buying this because a client had one. It's basically a Dust Buster/ vacuum combo.

How can clients help the pet sitter?

Have the needed supplies in plain view or one designated spot.
Supplies needed:

1. Trash bags
2. Cleaning sprays or wipes for counters or floors for cat area mess, vomits, and accidents outside the litter box.
3. Vacuum, broom, and dust pan (litter gets tracked everywhere)
4. Paper towels (I wash my hands a lot, and clean up pet messes)
5. Extra food, extra litter
6. Pet supplies
7. Litter scooper
8. Litter disposal bags

I personally don't feel comfortable looking through cabinets or closets for things that I need for doing my job.

I am approaching my third anniversary as a professional sitter/ business owner. 10 years as a sitter.

I know that there have been a lot of changes especially this year. Software was added, and a new business name.

Offering too many services and getting less than eight hours of sleep was not sustainable. Now, I find myself feeling more excited about the business, and looking forward to the future.

The new name? Why my name? Most women feel comfortable doing business with other women.

The purple cat is in honor of my original client of nearly 10 years.

Why cats only? I have more experience with cats and cat behavior. 2005-2018 I was doing TNR, fostering, cat adoptions. I fostered a few dogs too. 1000+ cats compared to maybe 50 dogs rescued, and rehomed.

Your holiday travel plans?
Whatever holiday you celebrate, please don't wait too long. I already have bookings over Christmas week. At least 2 months in advance for the holidays is a good idea.
Labor Day weekend still has plenty of space.
