Fun Fact of the Day About Cats: Cats actually only meow to communicate with humans not with each other. They communicate with each other by body language, and smelling of each other, and to show anger they may hiss at each other, but meowing is just for us! Do you know what certain meows mean from your cat(s)? I know the "I am hungry, feed me now servant!" I know the affectionate meow probably meaning I love you, because I usually get a headbutt to my own head and/or face. Do you meow back to your cat? Or just answer their meows with your normal human voice? I do both, and sometimes when I meow back at them, and they look at me all weird, and I just can't help, but to wonder what did I say just then??? 😆😅😂🤣😹😸 for sure lol

Posting a bit late, but I still wanted to show off my #1 girl, Luna, who is a 10 year old proud black cat! She knows she is nothing, but good luck! She would like everyone to know that in China black cats are consider to be lucky especially in the way of sending money their owner's way! She would like everyone to also know that black kittens and cats are usually the last choice in being adopted due to stigma and myths that are untrue. She wants to flip the narrative so future generations will not continue to say such superstitions. That way others like her will be considered the same as everyone else regardless of the color of her fur. She is the most independent cat I have ever owned. She loves the outdoors, and has her very own treehouse to call her own. She has protected it, and the area surrounding it her whole life so she will have to retire sometime, but I'm guessing thats gonna take a lot of bribes.

"I feed them but they're not my cats."

It's a statement we hear often from well-meaning caretakers who either don't have the means to fix the cats they feed or simply make the decision to spend their money elsewhere. Usually, we meet these caretakers when the colony has grown to the point of no longer being manageable for the caretaker -- or when the neighbors get annoyed and call animal control.

Resources for low-cost or no-cost TNR (spay/neuter, ear tip and vaccines) are available in most areas. You just need to look for them. To start, go to the pinned post at the top of our FB page to search for resources near you.

If you're feeding cats and don't have the means or ability to fix your colony of one of dozens, don't be shy about contacting a TNR group or no-kill rescue near you. We're working to solve the community cat problem and -- speaking for Stray Cat Project -- will be happy to hear from you, thrilled that you've asked for help and eager to help the kitties that you're feeding.

TNR groups love partnering with community cat caretakers -- whether the colony is fed at a residence or on public property. Let us help you. ❤️ If you feed it, you must fix it. ❤️ That doesn't mean you have to go bankrupt doing it. Don't be afraid to ask for help!

I was lied to by some people that are supposed to tell you the truth always, no matter what, but as it turns out my lil Susie has been missing for weeks without my knowledge. This angers me very much because maybe if I had been told earlier I would have a better chance of finding her. She is a calico young female kitten with a diagnosis of dwarfism so she will stay the size she is now of a 8 to 9 months old kitten. She is very sweet, but is timid and standoffish when she first meets new people, but quickly will become friends with anyone. She has the patches of a normal calico coat. One unique trait is that she has a solid black area of her coat around her right eye... giving her the nickname of Black Eyed Susie. Her tail is dark, and sticks straight up all the time. Her gait is different then other cats considering her dwarfism, and she is also very prone to losing her balance, and falls off things frequently, but she's never had a fall that she had gotten hurt from, just minor bumps and bruises. I miss her very much, and as most of you know that my y house caught fire in March, and everyone made it out ok.Linda, and my parents. The dogs made it out. We put them in the cars. My cats disappeared I guess with all the loud commotion. I pray every one of them were outside anyways. I did finally find all.mu cats were ok just a lil bit frightened. Lil Susie missing after going through all that trauma with the house is weighing heavy on my conscience. I should have been there to protect her. But this is my plea out to anyone that has seen her to please contact me.

My friend found a Mama cat with 3 kittens under his house. He was able to get Oreo and Cheerio to come to him, but the mom is feral, and the other kitten which is solid black he thinks. He's not a cat lover per say due to allergies, but as kittens will do....they won his heart over with their cuteness!

Lil Susie isn't so little anymore 😪 But with the diagnosis of dwarfism is will not get any bigger. So she will be the size of about a 8 month old kitten.

As a rescue, we too have made a new year's resolution. And we need your help to keep it! For years we have used cardboard drink flats as litter boxes. They are disposable and convenient, but fill our dumpster. Our plan is to go back to plastic litter boxes and reduce not only landfill waste, but also the amount of cat litter we purchase each month (40-50 45lb bags YIKES). That being said we are going to need around 70 new (please don't bring us Meow Meow's moldy poo) plastic litter boxes of varying sizes, most of them being on the smaller size. We will also need around a dozen litter scoopers. There's a couple of ways to help! You could order from Chewy and have it shipped to us. Cinder was born solid white, and I 2was sure she was probably going to be seal point colored, but she has surprised me with her very unique coloring. I don't believe I have see another cat like her!
