Marcy's mom here. Today marks one year since this beautiful girl passed away. One year since I last saw her smile, gave her a kiss, cuddled with her, and heard her "talk." There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Most days I miss her so much it hurts.

Marcy, I'll always love you my beautiful angel.

Thank you to all who helped Marcy along her rescue journey. I'll always be grateful for you, and helping her find her way to me.

To help keep Marcy's memory alive, please feel free to share a memory you have of her.

We had a celebration of our beautiful girl today. Yesterday we bought this bush called Summer Snowflake, which seemed appropriate since she loved the snow. I put just a bit of her ashes in the ground, and my parents put in some of Nick's, her boyfriend, fur too. We had her favorite food, pizza, after. Thank you to my family for celebrating her life. ❤️ ❤️

My beautiful girl is back home. I can't thank everyone at her vets enough for all they've done for Marcy, as well as continuing to keep her memory alive. I'm so thankful to have her nose print, paw prints, and fur to help remember my sweet angel. The note "from Marcy" and card from everyone brought me to tears.

Thank you all again for your kind words, sympathy, and support.

If you'd like, please light a white candle in memory of our beautiful lady.

Marcy's wonderful vet and my siblings (her aunts and uncles) sent us flowers in sympathy of Marcy's passing. They're beautiful just like her.

We are thankful for everyone who has reached out here, in person, and privately.

For anyone who might not have seen on Jimmy the Husky page, Marcy's wonderful vet spent at least 30 minutes with me yesterday going over her x-rays and pathology report in detail. Her liver was enlarged, but they couldn't feel it in an external exam because it was enlarged on the inward side near her stomach and didn't effect her organ function enough to show on bloodwork. We also saw her swollen leg and lymph node, as well as exactly where there was likely bone cancer in that same leg. Her vet truly feels we did everything we could. She believes Marcy passed from organ failure, as everything going on was just too much. Most importantly, she believes Marcy passed peacefully in her sleep. She described it as similar to humane euthanasia, but on Marcy's terms. She was an independent, strong lady, so I shouldn't be surprised she wanted to make that decision on her own.

Marcy's mom here again. We received the pathology report back. It stated signs of infection and suppressed immune system in at least that lymph node. It couldn't provide more conclusive details, which I think are common in smaller fine needle biopsies. There was also of course the enlarged liver, with a leaking absess / growth. Her vet still isn't ruling out bone cancer as well.

My heart hurts knowing my beautiful baby was going through all of this. My only hope is that it wasn't this bad for long, and the meds were able to control her pain. I still have moments where I feel I should have done more, and if we caught this earlier that she would still be here.

Marcy's mom here. I've been trying to figure out how to personally post here without any luck.

Anyways, I wanted to share with you all how Marcy's love continues to spread. We visited Helping Hounds today to drop off the canned A/D prescription food we had left. We were told they had a cute pup who is going through some health issues and would benefit greatly from the food. I feel that this is full circle. Helping Hounds rescued my beautiful, independent girl from deplorable conditions at a puppy mill, helped her through multiple surgeries, and blessed me with giving me the honor of giving Marcy her forever home. I'm so thankful we were able to give back in such a small way.

Marcy's mom here. The post I have been dreading on making since the day I brought her home. Beautiful, sweet Marcy passed away early this afternoon at home.

Her radiology report came back that stated she had a tumor on her liver and also on her leg. The growth near the liver could have pressed on her stomach, causing her to not want to eat. The belief is that maybe one of the tumors ruptured, but they believe her passing was quick.

I appreciate all of the love and support you have given us over the years, but especially the last few weeks.

Marcy was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. I'm so thankful she was part of my life.

To help remember her, I'd love if you could share a story or memory of her, if you'd like.

Please pray for strength for us as we adjust to life without our beautiful Moose physically here with us.

I'd also like to thank Helping Hounds for choosing me to be Marcy's mom, and to her vet and all of the staff there who loved and cared for her so much.

I might keep this page going as a way to honor Marcy. Please feel free to share and post on here as well as you'd like.

First, a big thank you to grandma for dropping me off and picking me up from the vet today.

Good news is that I survived my x-rays, and the vet didn't see anything overly alarming. We are hoping to receive the radiologist's notes either Friday or Monday.

Bad news is that my vet thinks what she thought yesterday was a swollen lymph node on my leg, is actually a tumor. She got a better look on the x-ray and feel of it while I was sedated. She did take a fine needle biopsy of it, so we will see what pathology says.

Our plan for now is to continue the Gabapentin, and then depending on what the radiologist says, to also start Prednisone next Tuesday. I have to wait until I've been off my anti-inflammatory for a week before I can start the Prednisone. I also have some new canned food to try that has a more liquid consistency, and you can mix water into it to make it more soup like. Now here is praying I will actually eat / drink it.

Mom got me this wagon yesterday since I'm having trouble walking. I've been enjoying being pulled around! In health news, I had an appointment with my fabulous vet today, who was on vacation last week. She recommended I get full body x-rays so we can see if there is any obvious nerve issue or tumors. She also gave me Gabapentin to help with the pain. They couldn't do the x-rays today, so I'm going back tomorrow for those. Due to the positions they'll need to put me in for the x-rays, they will need to give me some mild sedation, just to keep me calm and comfortable. Poor mom is a nervous wreck about all of this, so please keep the prayers coming.

We greatly appreciate all of the kind words and support you've all given over the last few weeks.

Brother Jimmy made a nice pillow during our car ride to do a curbside pickup this evening. To update on my health, I have an appointment with my regular vet tomorrow again. Please continue to send pawsitive vibes and prayers our way that she'll have an idea what else is going on, and can find a way to relieve my pain.

Here is a video of me limping. Mom bought me some boots thinking that might help to stabilize my foot. I wasn't a fan, and flung it off instantly. We welcome any suggestions as to what it might be and/or what to do until I can see my vet.

It's always something with me lately. I woke mom up at 5 am whining and talking away. She figured I just had to go out, but when I got up, I started limping and wouldn't bear weight on my back right leg. She tried cleaning it with an ACV and water mix, but nothing came off like blood, etc. I'm on anti inflammatory meds, so we are hoping they will help. If not, I'll be off to the vet again this coming week.

Hopefully good news! My stool sample results came back that I have hookworm. My bloodwork and urine looked great!

I'll have to take one dose of medication to clear it up. The vet said it should be ready tomorrow, and I should hopefully feel better in about 3 to 5 days. They believe this could be causing all of my issues though!

Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers. We are really praying this is really the cause of everything, and that I'll be back to my normal appetite soon.

Tonight mom took me to Petsmart to see if any of the treats smelled good to me. I ended up picking out a bone, a can of salmon and chicken food, and a new toy. I didn't care for the salmon food, but did eat half a bowl of shredded chicken for dinner. I also played with my new toy for a bit, and begged for pizza crust - I ate a small bite of it too. Thank you all for the pawsitive vibes and prayers. Please keep them coming and hope the new meds will help me feel better soon.

I went back to the vet again today due to not wanting to eat. Thank you to my grandma for coming with us to give mom some emotional support.

They gave me more fluids, anti nausea meds, an appetite stimulant, an anti-inflammatory to help with possible arthritis pain, and another round of antibiotics. Mom also made me get bloodwork done again, and a urine and stool test to see if there have been any changes in the last 2 weeks. I won't start the antibiotics unless the bloodwork indicates I should because we are trying to see if maybe the pain meds will help.

The vet recommended a chicken only diet for now since that was the only thing I would eat lately, so mom has 4 chicken breasts cooking in my no sodium broth. I only ate a few bites of reheated leftover chicken for dinner. It was enough to allow mom to force my anti-inflammatory meds in a pill pocket down.

Good news is that somehow I didn't manage to lose more weight.

Please continue to keep those pawsitive vibes and prayers coming. Poor mom could really use them. She said I've been causing her quite a lot of stress over this.

10/02/2022

After refusing to eat all weekend, including pizza crust and all sorts of dog treats, I finally ate some plain chicken breast. Mom was ready to bring me to the emergency vet tonight. Please send prayers and pawsitive vibes that I'll continue to eat some foods at least.

I've convinced my siblings to not eat dog food now too.

I have a new raised food dish. It took me a few minutes to get used to it, but now I suppose it isn't too bad. It didn't get me to eat dog food though, still just eating ground beef.
