Willie, curled up on the Corgi size bed. Love this old boy. He is 13 this year. Starting to show his age. His hearing is not what it used to be but he certainly runs around crazy like a young pup still.

A day of rest..."Most of the things we need to be most fully alive never come in busyness. They grow in rest."
- Mark Buchanan

Our busy week at the NILE was filled with many good things.
* We would like to thank all of our buyers! We look forward to seeing all of your successes with the babies you have chosen.
* A huge thank you to Mike, Keegan, Kiarra and Brayden. For all their help Friday and Saturday with the babies and all things that needed to be done. Truly the kindest good people!
* Thank you to Sierra and Lexi for bringing their geldings back and showing them in the Yearling Futurity.
* We had a young lady contact us looking at one of our fillies earlier in the year. This young lady called us, met with us, picked her filly, paid for her filly, and has done everything in regards with that filly, all on her own. She showed her filly in the Weanling Ranch Conformation Futurity and also in the Weanling-in-hand Trail and did amazing. Milly, you are an awesome young lady and will go far. Shana and Bruce, you are good people and have great kids!
* We are blessed with our wonderful neighbors Mel and Dave who, every year baby sit a couple mares and foals on their place. Mel was able to stop by on sale day this year and say goodbye to her baby she had loved on all summer.
* Max and "B***y" DOTTSA QUINCY STRUTT, showed in the 2 year old futurity and Ranch Trail. They showed well and had nice pattern work. B***y was calm and cool, watching and calmly assessing everything new, trusting Max's patience and lead.
* Joe showed our weanling c**t by IOUGHTACAUSASCANDAL out of STRUTTIN MY SUNTAN, placing 1st in the Weanling Ranch Conformation Futurity, First in the Weanling-in-hand trail, and winning the weanling halter jackpot on Saturday before the sale.
* Quinn was a perfect gentleman just hanging out.
* Max competed in the Youth Ranch Sorting. Friday during the day on Colton's mare "Hallie" MISCHIEVOUSLY CHROMED and Saturday at the Ranch Rodeo. Max was happy to pull his girl "Roxanne" ELANS ANNIE OKIE out of retirement for the evening. Roxanne seemed to fully enjoy her evening. It was very fun to watch her and Max together again.
We had so many good things happen this week my post could even be longer 🤭. Our lives are so blessed with good people, experiences and horses. We thank our Lord for all the blessings and opportunities we are gifted with everyday.

AQHA LIKELY A SMOKIN GUN
(QUINCY SMOKIN GUNNIT X SHES LIKELY SMOOTH)

One of our young stallion "Waylon's" first foals. We are so excited to see where this guy takes his new owners.

Offered as lot #119 in the NILE Gold Buckle sale on Saturday October 19th in Billings, MT. Nearly last in the sale but well worth the wait.

His Sire is very athletic and has that desired attitude sought after in a stallion. We are so happy with one of our first outcrosses in a long time, adding the lines of COLONELS SMOKIN GUNNIT and HOLLYWOOD DUN IT to our program. In watching this c**t move in the pasture and since weaning and preparing for the sale he is going to take after his lineage in many ways. All chromed up and that deep dun color he will get you noticed everytime. Legs forever.

Photos are from about a month old so be sure to take a close look on sale day and keep an eye here at our page. For more information or to meet him in person please contact us.

AQHA CLASY SONDEE SCANDAL
(IOUGHTACAUSASCANDAL x IMA DUN BLONDE)
Consigned as lot #79 to the NILE Gold Buckle Sale on Saturday, October 19th in Billings, MT.
This filly has been a sweetheart here at home. She has the conformation and disposition to go be a winner in the arena, or for someone to really enjoy having and using her at home. Max has just started to halter break her and help her get ready to go sell and it is going very well.
Joe and Max had fun showing their "blondes" earlier this year who are siblings to her.
If you have any questions or would like to come visit before sale day, please reach out to us.

🌟 The Importance of Conformation, Movement, and Temperament in Selecting a Breeding Prospect 🌟

When it comes to selecting an equine breeding prospect, the decision is not one to be taken lightly. The future of your breeding program hinges on the careful evaluation of three critical factors: conformation, movement, and temperament. Each of these elements plays a vital role in determining the overall success and longevity of the offspring produced.

🔍 Conformation refers to the physical structure and appearance of the horse. A well-conformed horse typically exhibits balanced proportions, strong bone structure, and soundness in its joints. These traits are essential not only for performance but also for the health and longevity of the horse. Poor conformation can lead to a myriad of issues down the line, including lameness and decreased athletic ability. When selecting a breeding prospect, look for horses that exemplify ideal breed standards while also demonstrating functional athleticism.

🏇 Movement is another crucial aspect to consider. The way a horse moves can indicate its potential for various disciplines, whether it be dressage, jumping, or western riding. A horse with fluid, powerful movement is more likely to excel in performance settings. Observing how a horse moves at different gaits—walk, trot, canter—can provide insight into its athletic capabilities and suitability for your specific goals. Remember that movement is not just about aesthetics; it directly impacts performance and soundness.

💖 Temperament is perhaps one of the most overlooked yet essential factors in breeding selection. A horse's temperament affects its trainability, behavior under saddle, and overall suitability for various riders or handlers. Horses with calm, willing dispositions are generally easier to train and work with, making them more desirable as breeding prospects. Additionally, temperament can be hereditary; thus, selecting horses with good temperaments can help ensure that their offspring inherit these positive traits.

In conclusion, when evaluating potential breeding prospects, it is imperative to take a holistic approach that encompasses conformation, movement, and temperament. By prioritizing these key factors, you set the foundation for producing high-quality equine athletes that will thrive in their respective disciplines while also promoting soundness and good character.

Investing time in thorough evaluations today will yield significant rewards tomorrow! 🐴✨

Pretty excited around here. Looky at what's happening, just started day before yesterday. Making a few changes to the old and getting a bigger place to ride inside when the weather or daylight don't cooperate. Yeah!

Our hearts are happy! Billy has found an amazing home with Chelsea Ufflman here in Montana. She took him home and has went to riding him at her ranch. He has even went to the big pasture and gotten some cattle exposure. Thank you Chelsea! We hope you enjoy your new guy for many years.
