Precision Hoof Care

Precision Hoof Care Certified Farrier through the American Farriers Association. As well as completing her certification through the American Farriers Association in 2017.

Ashley Gasky APF-1, CF is an Accredited Professional Farrier through the American Association of Professional Farriers. Precision Hoof Care offers high performance hoof care to optimize soundness and longevity in all horses. We strive for a hoof that is healthy, compact and appropriate for the workload of the horse. With the foundation of a correct trim we offer composite horseshoes, casting, or h

oof boots for the horses’ comfort and performance. We offer corrective shoeing as necessary, and will work alongside your vet. Precision Hoof Care works with a variety of performance and pleasure horses, of all shape and size, but ask that they behave appropriately. The hoof is your horses only connection to the ground. It is how he receives information about terrain and his relationship with gravity. Here at Precision Hoofcare, we believe that improving the hoof will allow for a more accurate transfer of information. When the horse receives proper input from it's body it is able to live, work and perform better. An apparent sign of a horse receiving incorrect information about where it's body is, a horse who repeatedly stands with it's legs camped under itself. Hooves are only one contributing factor to this scenario, other causes include dental misalignment, and chiropractic subluxations. We can help you with the feet, and direct you to quality professionals who can help you with the rest. Contact us for more information!

Getting better starts by being brave enough to try. I keep these shoes in a box to remind myself how far I’ve come. 💜

It’s so far from perfect, but it’s my first attempt at the AFA Certified Farrier Shoe Board, and I’m proud of it!

“If you must, leave them long. Just don’t leave them inflamed, infected or inadequately protected.”

There are worse things for a hoof than to be “long”. Inflamed, infected, inadequately protected are sources of active pain. Not potential stress or strain, ACTIVE pain. -
-
- This hoof has multiple painful conditions and incorrect forces being applied to it. The biggest offender to me is the length of HEEL. Not the toe, the heel. The heels of this hoof have grown forward and down and are now loading the wings of the coffin and navicular bones. Addressing that distortion first is far more important to me than anything happening in the front of the foot. -

This hasn’t changed much, though I’m more likely to use Rate Hoof Pack in hoof crevices these days.

Todays mission: provide support and relief to this horse.

Long term negative angle to the coffin bone caused heel spikes, and the vet also discovered some sensitivity in the suspensory ligaments.

As the hoof care provider, I've corrected as much as was possible with only trimming, and now this horse will be shod.

Some kids hunt eggs, farm kids hunt Eggbars! Things are a bit different this year, but I hope you’re all able to enjoy what this day has to offer.
