Just a few pictures left in my gallery. But I will miss each and every one of your "kids". Thank you again for all your support! And Thank you to my son Mike who was my technical support all these years. Im sure he got so annoyed with me calling him all the time and to this day its a miracle if I can even post anything without his help! Lol!

I just want to thank everyone for your comments and kind words. Such a blessing to me to know that you felt so appreciative of our care over the years. And thank you for the beautiful cards and gifts I received this week.... I have just a few more recent pics that I will post. Gosh - I will really miss them! Thank you so much!

Dear Clients,

This is the most difficult post I will be doing…. This week will be my last official week taking care of all your fur babies. As most of you know as of December 19th, I will be retiring from pet sitting. It has been such a difficult decision for me to make. So many people have said they are happy for me, and they bet I’m counting the days. I do have that anticipation to spend more time with my family, but on the other hand I will truly miss each of your pets and will think about them and wonder how they are doing. Many I have taken care of since they were puppies or kittens and they have become part of my daily life.

As I look back on the last 18+ years I decided to share some of my thoughts:

I never knew years ago working at a pet store in the 1990’s, that I would move on to kennel work, animal hospitals and eventually pet sitting. At that time there were only a few pet sitting outfits in the area, and I was lucky enough to become involved with one. So, I started doing daily dog walks and vacation visits for dogs and cats around 2002. Then in 2010 I decided to venture out on my own and established Comfort Pet Sitting. In addition to daily dog walks and pet visits in client’s homes, my desire was to be able to provide a place for them to run around awhile and an alternative option to stay overnight while their owners were on vacation. We lived in a small duplex at the time with no fenced in yard, so it wasn’t a very good set-up. Amazingly a few years later… and not actively looking, my husband and I happened upon a perfect house just a few miles away from our duplex with a huge fenced in yard!
This move brought Comfort Pet Sitting where we have been the last 7 years. I continued with midday dog walks, and pet visits in client’s homes. And I still did many overnights in client’s homes. But the big difference was I could now bring pups over to hang out awhile when their owners were at work, and I had that option to keep them overnight when the owners were on vacation. With some, hanging out at our house then going back and spending the night with them at their house worked best…. Whatever was most comfortable for the pup!

My husband Pete was always supportive, but in the beginning was not as much of a dog person. But of course, because of his caring nature all the dogs immediately began to love Pete and would look for him as soon as they got to the house! I have so much respect for him allowing me to sometimes disrupt his day and yard work- as anyone who knows Pete knows he is a big lawn fanatic…LOL! He has been a huge help to me over the years and would always end up playing with the dogs, taking them for walks and even spoiling them way beyond what I would do!

As I am very thankful for what my business has become, I do have a heavy heart leaving it behind, but am truly looking forward to spending more time with my husband, children. and grandchildren. Please keep me updated on your pets from time to time because I would still love to hear how they are doing. Thank you so much everyone for your faithful continued business over the years. Comfort Pet Sitting would not have happened without you and your encouragement and support!

In a letter I sent out a few months back I included some other pet sitter’s names and numbers you can contact. If you have any questions about them, please feel free to call me.
