I have officially decided to focus on Chocolate Otters for the next two-ish years, so I will be needing to get a chocolate, chocolate Otter, Amber, or chocolate carrier Agouti/self Rexes. If anyone has one (or two) with wide hips (that's what I really want to have in my line first, then depth, length & shoulders), please reach out!
I am considering going to the show in Jefferson (March 8th), I will be at the show in Waupaca in May (24thish?). I hope to get my breeders to start breeding before the end of October at the latest.

Dutchess, day 14, babies confirmed! I am sooo excited! This will be her first litter with Quinn, my Agouti New Zealand buck. I am excited to see what genetic information I will learn about Dutchess from this litter. Due day 2-15-25 (anniversary litter, so fun!)
While I did not 100% confirm Ruby's pregnancy, her tummy has gotten much harder since her day 14. I am going to wait her out and see if she kindles.

Snickers is bred - against her will. Oh well. I think she is still mad about her sore hocks, even though they have healed significantly in the last week! I am hoping for a good litter, we shall see what God allows. :)

A little update: I will be seeking out a Chocolate Rex with wide hips and short shoulders. I may attend a show in Jefferson in March, and I will be attending a show in Waupaca in May.
Snickers will be giving me one last litter, so I should have a few Rexes available by April (Lord willing).
Let me know what you have or if you are interested in any kits.

Here is Snickers, my DQ Tort, Tri-color. Someone asked about her and I have found two links helpful in understanding her genetic make up. I believer her to be a Black Tri-color Tort = aaBBC(50%c)Ddeje. The ee makes a tort on the veriaties and with the ej, my guess is that she is an eje, based on her dad's red lines. I would think it rare for her to be ejej, since Penny only has one copy of ej, and her dam has no ej/ee in her lines at all (based on the appearance of her pedigree).
Anyone with more knowledge/experience on the topic is welcome to comment and correct. :)
What to do with her now, I do not know. Enjoy looking through the photos and picking out the different colors of her coat! :)

Yay to my first show!
Snickers is a Tort! DQ - haha.
Maxine was a "promising" jr and placed 2nd out of 5. She needs more density to her fur. More filling in her loins.
Mystic was 3rd out of 5, needs more depth and has less density of fur than Maxine.
Overall, I am very pleased my first show went really well. :) Maybe next time I will be a little more comfortable talking with people. 😅
