OnebyOne NJ Cat Rescue OnebyOne is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill, cat rescue made up of a group of animal loving, dedicated, tireless volunteers. We are NOT a shelter.

Our focus is to rescue stray, abandoned, homeless cats and kittens and place them in loving forever homes. Each cat is fostered in a wonderful home, nurtured and loved until we are able to find each one their forever home. Another focus of our group is TNR* (trap, neuter, return). In an effort to help reduce over crowding in state shelters and minimize the outdoor feral cat population in NJ, Oneby

One is not only providing hands on help, but also providing education and resources to help people who want to get involved in their own backyard or their community. Because of foster space limitations, we do rescue and place mostly cats. However, you will sometimes find a dog or bunny listing here, as we offer courtesy posting for fellow trusted Rescuers in the NJ area. Please note: WE DO NOT BREED KITTENS!!! When there are kittens listed for adoption at any time on this page, they were rescued. OnebyOne is lucky enough to maintain a foster network throughout NJ . We work closely with our fosters, other rescues, and various shelters to place these rescued cats and dogs in loving forever homes.

hello my fellow animal lovers, Sawyer is in need of your help. This sweet 14 year-old NJ boy lost his home. We have a kind elderly couple desperately trying to find him a home within the next few weeks. Sawyer is a sweet, gentle boy excellent with children, other dogs and cats.
Please help by sharing his photo. Hoping to find this sweet boy a home where he is safe and loved for the remainder of his life.

When I started this page about 14 years ago, I promised myself and my followers that I would only post positive, encouraging stories. I’m not going to change that today however… I am so upset I need to share the story of Twinkles.
Twinkles was found outside. A woman picked her up, brought her into her house, soon realized that she was completely blind, and literally threw her out. She watched this tiny girl struggle, watched her have at least three litters and cruelly watched every one of the kittens die from malnutrition and still left her out there, alone, afraid, cold and hungry. Somehow, only by the Grace of God, Twinkles ended up at my local shelter. Staff was wonderful however we know with barking dogs, people in and out, different scents, a blind cat could never feel safe and sadly would likely not be adopted.
A beautiful adopter of several OnebyOne fosters, just lost her last cat. She is an older woman, alone, and brokenhearted. I told her about Twinkles situation, and she, without hesitation, agreed to take her into her home. Just writing this story I have tears going down my face for this poor sweet girl who has been abandoned so often. Now, in her older years, she will finally be safe, have as much food and love as she wants, a warm bed to snuggle and a mom who will never abandon her.
Sleep well in your new home tonight Twinkles…you are finally safe.
