The worst thing you can do is try to create an environment for your dog (especially your new puppy) that never makes them uncomfortable. LIVE YOUR LIFE and your puppy will adjust to it.
Now, certain in scenarios, we need to advocate for our dogs when they are uncomfortable. Those are scenarios such as: fear aggression (people/dogs) or situations where safety can be an issue.
💥 IF 💥 safety isn't a concern... for the love of God, allow your dogs to learn it's okay to be uncomfortable‼️‼️ Because guess what....!? At some point in their life, likely 100's of times, your dog WILL be uncomfortable.
If your dog was never taught how to handle being uncomfortable (or how to properly cope), you could have a dangerous situation on your hands. Not to mention the danger you put other people in.
You love your kids enough to allow them to process things, self-soothe and work through uncomfortable situations. And that's because you want them to be successful out in a world full of uncomfortable situations. Why don't you want the same for your dog....? Allow them the opportunity to figure out that the "thing" that made them uncomfortable isn't actually that bad after all.

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?
The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.
I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.
"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"
"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."
"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."
"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."
In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Titan forgot his toothbrush.🤦♀️ So he had to fly ✈️ home quickly to grab it. Overseas, they only had left-pawed toothbrushes, and Titan is a righty. We secretly think he just missed us! We are glad to have him "back" for a few days. 🫶 Check out how well he is walking now! 🥹🙏 He wants to do zoomies and jump around - but we know it's best for him to continue resting and healing his knee up!

Fresca has been increasing her level of difficulty with "leave it". Freca colan technically do whatever she wants, other than advance towards the food. Look at these 4! 👀 They have come such a long way with their door manners ("wait")! Why is this important⁉️ Doorways are such a huge trigger for so many dogs. Dogs that bolt outside. Dogs that bolt out of their crates. Dogs that push their way through doors with their noses. Dogs that explode out of vehicles and run around parking lots. 😵 All of which are very rude behaviors. We teach all of our dogs to have impulse control at doorways. Not only does this make life easier for the humans. But it also helps teach dogs to engage their brains, settle for a few seconds, and then proceed through doorways politely. 🙌 Doorways do not have to equal chaos.
