Firecracker Nala x HRCH Skyriver’s The Notorious D.O.G. MH (MN pass) “Carlos”

All black litter whelped 7/12/24

Carlos is developing into one of those special dogs that has a great balance between family and field. He is perfect in the house and as a front seat passenger and in the blink of an eye he is a fire cracker in the field. His speed, style and natural talent are something to be admired. Carlos is an excellent marker and a has a high tailed, staunch point.

Carlos is a handsome boy with a rich dark chocolate coat, strong athletic build and a show stopper of a head. He truly is one in a million.

Carlos's mom, CPR Tiger Mtn's Part of The Plan, SH - aka Party is a black female that has a fantastic personality. She is eager to learn and has the heart of a lion. She loves the water and is an excellent marker, making it fun to work her and even more fun to hunt over. Did we mention she is a pointing machine??? She has a staunch point with great stamina and will give a traditional Pointer a run for their money. When Party isn't in the field, she settles nicely in the house, gets along great with other dogs, cats and loves kids. She has never met a stranger and draws attention with her great looks, glossy black coat and of course fun name.

Carlos's sire is a late, great "Rascal" - AFC CFC CAFC Chugach Hills Jazz's Rascal from Larry and Anna Calvert's coveted program. He produced many great dogs including a strong line of chocolate Labs. He also was a solid pointing dog that passed that on to his offspring.

Carlos is qualified for his 3rd Master Nationals in 2024 and has over 20 Master Hunter passes! He is as fun to watch in competition as he is on wild birds! He’s got it all!

Nala is a hard charging hunter and marker. Taking after her mother (Raven) in many aspects. At 55 # she’s a savage in the field but an absolute sweetheart in the home. She settles right down inside and is great with kids of all ages… incredible off switch. She’s a pleaser. Though not ran in field trials, Nala was professionally trained by Katie Williams at Blackrock Retrievers and excelled at an early age. Both sides have impeccable pedigrees.. these dogs will be something special.

My crew has been running strong this winter and are continuing to improve daily. They had a good run last weekend, even those who are jumping back in from hunting season. From CA to WA, a big thank you always to my professional duck chuckers!

Thank you to our home club Sand & Sage and fellow members for hosting another event. Thank you to the Hawley’s, John, Brook, Susan and Charles, Brad for hauling the ducks up, the hard workers, volunteers and gunners!

Congratulations to my clients and to Stephen on titling another pup. Franklin, Sauce and Izzy are all celebrating their new SH titles and Pinky with her new JH title!

“Crawford's Blackrock Obsidian "Dian" (DN) .. just under 6 months old ran his first Started test today and picked up his first of many ribbons to come. Such a special pup with a big heart 🥰

Brian and I had a great weekend judging and running dogs at the Chris Benner Memorial Hunt Test in Corning, CA held by the Western States Boykin Spaniel Club. We are always honored to be asked to judge and Thank the club for having us.

To WSBSC, all of the volunteers, Corning FFA, judges, Clear Creek Sports Club and most importantly the participants who traveled from all over the country to participate.. it couldn't be done without you. It takes a lot of time and effort to put on a successful weekend hunt test and truly takes a village or 5. Thank you!”

This 2024 Winter Trip will forever be special. Test dogs or Hunting dogs, I am beyond happy with my crew.
Our last test of the trip was another successful one with multiple titles and tickets punched to the Master National.
