🐾 Jet went missing over the weekend and his owner couldn’t find him. Today a kind citizen brought him in and thankfully he had a microchip! The reunion went smoothly and Jet is home for the holidays.

🐾 This is a great reminder to have your pet microchipped AND to make sure that the information stays up to date. If you move, change numbers, or emails please contact your microchip company and update your information.
🐾 At WRVC we use HomeAgain TempScan microchips. They are $50 and have the ability to take your pet’s temperature through their skin.

🚨 Critical Pet Emergencies to Be Aware Of 🚨

There are certain health emergencies that every pet owner should know about. Recognizing these conditions early and acting quickly can save your pet’s life. Here are a few of the most urgent:

🔴 Urethral Obstruction – Often seen in male cats, this life-threatening blockage can make it impossible for your pet to urinate and requires immediate care.

🔴 Hemangiosarcoma – A rapidly progressing cancer that often affects the spleen or heart, especially in dogs. Sudden weakness or collapse may be signs.

🔴 Pyometra – A severe uterine infection in unspayed females that can be fatal if untreated. Symptoms include lethargy, vomiting, and discharge.

🔴 Saddle Thrombus – Commonly affecting cats with heart disease, this blood clot can cause sudden pain and paralysis, typically in the hind legs.

🔴 Bloat (GDV) – In large, deep-chested dogs, bloat can cause the stomach to twist, cutting off blood flow. Symptoms include a swollen abdomen, unproductive vomiting, and restlessness.

If you spot any signs of these emergencies, don’t wait – bring your pet to Timber Trails Animal Hospital or an emergency clinic right away. Acting fast can make all the difference! ❤️🐾
