UPDATE!! PAINTING IS NOW LOCATED AT BAYLESS RESTAURANT.

Chastity Windham has done a painting of one our shelter dogs, Ranger. The silent auction for the painting is at "Bayless Restaurant" from now through the month of May. You may bid for the painting there. All proceeds will go to HHPA.

Ranger
Ranger is one of the dogs currently living at “Happy Healthy Pet Adoption” animal shelter. He has been there for around four years. He came to the shelter as a two-year old stray whom someone found in their yard. Looking at his build and structure, he is most likely a mixture of chow and retriever. He has short hair that is a beautiful reddish mahogany brown color.
He has lots of personality, boundless energy, and enthusiasm for playing He would do well with a family who takes the time to work with him and play with him. He is a unique dog in that he loves to be around people; he would be a good lap dog at the same time. He gets along well with female dogs, but he does fence fight with other male dogs which is normal behavior for male dogs.
He has had basic obedience training, and a refresher course in basic commands would be beneficial to him. He is basically all muscle and needs to be approached with the realization that he may jump up on someone. He does dig holes when he is bored and plays with anything he can find including food bowls and water buckets. He would be perfectly happy in a big fenced area where he can run and play. Ranger is up-to-date on all his shots and takes a monthly heart worm pill. He has already been neutered. He is ready for his forever home.

Saturday, Sept. 28th from 9am-1pm, Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic is hosting a FREE rabies vaccination clinic for the residents of the City of Hattiesburg-Government, proof of residency required.

Free rabies vaccinations and basic veterinary exams are available for healthy cats and dogs at least 12 weeks old. Thanks to a grant from Petco Love, we're also offering free DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines, which protect against canine parvovirus and panleukopenia in cats. For Pine Belt owners outside of Hattiesburg, we’re offering a Mini Package for $35, which includes a rabies vaccine, exam, and either the DAPPv Canine or HCP Feline vaccine. Name-your-price microchips are available to all residents upon request.
