We are an upscale grooming salon looking for an assistant. The requirements for the position are as follows:

~nonsmoker
~able to lift and control a 50 pound animal
~endless patience and gentle hands
~presentable in a customer facing postion
~capable of getting to work on time, every time
~covid vaccine
~criminal history not more recent than 3 years, non violent offenders only

The ideal candidate would be capable of and/or aspire to:
~be experienced in a high volume grooming salon
~have basic computer skills
~phone etiquette
~high school diploma/GED

Our salon is family owned and operated. A new addition to our staff will need to be capable of working with all other members of the staff in a pleasant, fun environment.

We would prefer a candidate with prior knowledge in bathing and basics. We are, however, willing to train an otherwise perfect fit.

This is a part time position. The hours vary by appointment but range between 9AM and 3PM consistently. There is flexibility as needed, within reason.

Must be experienced grooming and bathing cats as well as dogs. Must have at least 3 years experience working as a groomer. If you get the job you will be required to lift dogs up to 120 pounds- (larger dogs over 70 lbs with assistance) - who can not use the hydraulic lift or will not follow on a lead. You will be required to keep the bathing area and cages clean and towels run through the washer and drier. At the end of the day you will put up tools take out the trash and pick up water mats.

You will be expected to show up in uniform which can be scrubs with jeans, khakis or crapris. Cosmetologist Uniforms are also accepted. Any professional and appropriate uniform is acceptable. Bright colors and graphics are fine as long as it's not offending.

This location has been bought by new owners and is improving rapidly. We expect someone who is willing to grow with us and can work hard and fast. As a groomer you will be expected to handle all types of breeds and all cats that come in. You are required to bring your own tools although some products will be provided as will bathing tools.

Absolutely must be gentle with EVERY animal and not scared or hesitant with larger breeds.

Please only call if you are experienced and sure of your skills. We are unable at this moment to take the time to train someone and need a fully capable groomer.

Ruth's Happy Pets is an established grooming salon which has recently been remodeled and changed management. Our groomer of 40 years is extremely experience with pets and caring for every kind of animal. She has vet tech experience and has worked with "working dogs" and show animals for many years.
