Bayonne Animal Hospital was the first of our family-owned and operated animal hospitals in Hudson County. This location was founded in 1944 by the Tuder family, and has been under the direction of Dr. Michael Tuder since 1986.

MYTH: If there is a breeze and you keep your car window cracked your pet is safe in the car from heat related illness.
FACT: Car temperatures can still rapidly climb despite a breeze or windows being left open, resulting in heat stroke or even death. The safest option for your pet is to keep them with you in a cool air-conditioned space or leave them home to lounge safely!

Heat Stroke in dogs can unfortunately be a common summer emergency. Avoid this by taking steps to keep your best friend extra cool.

Some signs your pet may be experiencing heat stroke are heavy panting, the inability to calm or regulate themselves, brick red gums, fast pulse or the inability to get up. If you are concerned your pet is experiencing heat stroke it is important to seek veterinary care IMMEDIATELY.

If the concrete is too hot to hold the back of your hand on for 5 seconds, it is too hot for their sensitive paws!
