Hi!

We had a great time at the Show & Go at the Durham Kennel.
Cruella and her handler Sarah Gould did Awesome for her first time being in a Show setting. Great Job Cruella!!! Tucker and his handle Tracey Garner-Faulkner also did Awesome for his first time being in a Show setting. It's always exciting for me as a trainer to be able to watch the Accomplishments that are made by all my Students, A lot of Hard Work and Determination is put in the Training,

Good Evening
We lost a very special girl Saturday. Tw***ie the Basset Hound. She was a Awesome girl in our Obedience Training Class. She made us ALL laugh and enjoy the moment with her. She is going to be Greatly Missed. Her loving care giver and Devoted Friend was Avis Bistritz. Avis we all know that your heart is broken but Tw***ie wlll always be with you. We are sending our love and thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Tw***ie run in peace and play at the Rain Bow Bridge sweet girl.

Hi Everybody!
I was just at Pet Smart. I saw a Older Lady in there with a little Mix Breed Dog on a Flex a Leash. She had NO IDEA what a liability she had on her hands having that dog on the flex a lead. She had Absolutely NO CONTROL, he was barking at every dog and person that was in there. She was constantly getting him untangled around displays and her self, because she kept letting the leash out. Absolutely NO CONTROL.
She doesnt realize how lucky she was that a Big Dog didn't come in while she was letting that dog go where ever he wanted to.
The reason I'm writing this is because it's a Safety Issue for other pets and Humans, The flex a leash is Not Good for taking a dog in public especially when you have NO CONTROL over that dog. It makes for a very Dangerous Situation.
If the dog on the flex a leash is let all the way out like how I see these people do the dog could very easily get KILLED. Either hit by a car or another dog coming up and the flex a lead dog rushing towards it. Not GOOD. The the Owner with the dog on the Flex a Leash will want to put the Blame on the other dog.
The BEST PLACE FOR THESE FLEX A LEASHES is in the TRASH. It's not a good training tool to use either.
I have had people come to my training classes with those useless leashes and I can't wait to get it off of them and put a proper leash on them.
Sorry so long but it was very UPSETTING to watch.

Hi
I have been reading about a lot of pets that have gotten away from their owners.
To me it's really scary that these pets have never been taught the Recall. It's a VERY IMPORTANT COMMAND for them to learn, It can be a life saving command.
I have talked to a lot of pet owners about the degree of Obedience that they have done with their pets. I'm told oh he or she knows how to Sit. That's all Good but there is a lot more to it than Sitting.
How about having Voice Controll. That is giving a command and they respond. A lot of pet owners like to feed treats while they are training. That's ok but I don't recommend it. If you end up in a serious situation and don.t have food for he or she to see you're out of LUCK. Any situation that you find yourself in you need to have Voice Controll over it.
I hope that I have given respondsible pet owners something to think about.

Hey Everybody
