🚨 Attention Hartford Residents 🚨

The Hartford Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding dogs running at large in the areas of Ellis Park, Oakwood Drive, East Union Street, and Clay Street. We want to remind everyone that the City of Hartford has a longstanding ordinance regarding a leash law, which states that no dogs shall run at large in any public road, highway, street, lane, or alley without proper consent of the owner.

Any violations of this ordinance may result in fines or other penalties within local and state law or ordinances. Unfortunately, in 2021-2022, we have had incidents involving vicious dogs running at large, resulting in injuries.

If you have any concerns about dogs running at large in your area, please do not hesitate to contact the Hartford Police Department at (270) 298-3379. Let's work together to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. Thank you for your cooperation. 🐾

Everyone we talk with is begging for help. Here the solution and perfect opportunity to!!

Hop on in and let our clinic team take care of those trouble puff on those male cats for only $27. This comes complete with pain meds and rabies vaccine, plus thanks to , they will receive their 3 way cat booster shot, a $10 value, for FREE!!!! 2024 is already starting off with record intakes on animals at all our shelters. Let's shut this cycle down quickly and help these females not have as many kittens until we can get them as well. We are taking female spay applications as well, but it could be up to a 2 week wait before we can get spots for them. Due to the use of spay packs in surgery, we are limited to the number of females that can come each day. Having lots of boys come, fills that gap in time. Please sign your boys us, find a boy, call a friend, or whatever we need to get these boys fixed.

Shelters are still packed. People are still having multiple unfixed cats dumped on them. We have to do more! Grab a boy for a once in 4 year opportunity to celebrate Leap Year. This WEDNESDAY only!!! Males only!!!! Our clinic is located at the Dawg House in Hartford, Kentucky directly behind the new 5 Star Truck Stop being built. Drop off is 6:30-8:30. If you put an application in for a male, count on coming the 28th. Pick up is 11:30-12. We may have limited transports from Muhlenberg. You will need to text me at +1 (270) 256-1803 if you need a ride. It will likely be later Tuesday evening before I can answer. I will not be available for calls tomorrow. It is awesome if you have your name, kitties name, and your phone number on your carrier. You can have more than one kitty in a carrier if you absolutely know they get along. The kitties can come in traps if needed. Any time you trap a cat, there is no need to move them to a carrier. If you have any additional question, I will try to answer by text. It’s been a crazy week already. But shutting down these boys will help us limit the kittens being born. We are taking applications for female cats as well, but we are booking for March 6th on females at the moment and that’s filling quickly. We share our clinic now with 7 groups, so we are going to have to start watching the numbers that come in each time.

They told us she killed chickens but we weren't concerned....No chickens here!! Apparently this goes for ceramic chicks and eggs as well. :)

Even with a snow day, in January, 78 cats were spayed and 84 cats were neutered through our spay clinic; plus 10 rescue/shelter dogs were altered. We only have 2 dates in February! Let’s make them count. In honor of our efforts to stop the love in 2024, male cats will be $24 at our February 7th clinic ONLY! That includes rabies! Plus Petco Love has provided FREE cat and dog core vaccines!!!

This was one of our first adoptions for Bluegrass Humane Society of Kentucky Inc. This lady was turned into our old county shelter in 2012-2013 as a baby. Her name was Gringa. Here she is enjoying the Tennessee weather. She loves the snow.
