Starfire's Top Gun Of White Paw
5/12/2022 AKA (Maverick)

Crazy boy Maverick! He is our other yearling who will joins the race team this season. Training in the fall and racing on the 6 dog sled team with Raven, Percy, Arrow, Polly and River. Maverick will rotate between wheel and team position. PS- Maverick is a master excavator. I have filled in soooo many holes and motes since the ground thawed. Thanks Mav for trying to keep mom in shape!🩵💜💙

Briarlea's You Did It Of White Paw
06/09/2022 AKA-(Goose)

The many faces of Goose! This big boy had his 1st birthday this spring and will be training with the team this fall and plan to have him race on the 4 dog team with Wren, Atlas and his Kennel buddy Hero. Goose is a big, strong boy who will make a great wheel dog on our 4 dog team. Fall can't get here soon enough 💜💜🩵🩵

Summer time means focus training. The girls helped us with on- by passing. Maverick, Goose, and Wren all worked on passing and Wren also got to work with holding the line out.
I think the boys look pretty good in the team colors!
They all did good, Goose was the star student. He didn't care at all. Good boy Goose!! Maverick was his normal puppy self, until we got him to focused better, then he was all business!
Wren was completely good with passing Zuri, Bailey and Kya, but Piper and Meeka there was a little resistance. And that's all due to Miss Piper. She would run at her and spook her. But those are all things she may encounter on the trail- so you have to get use to it baby girl!

Hi all!!! So I don't really post alot. It's not that I don't want to, I just get busy and don't have time. So up dates are far and few .....

We finished up our Spring Dryland and managed to pull off our 1st Gold medal in Registered Breed 2 dog scooter. Awesome job guys!!! And 4th in 2 dog RB bike!
We stared the season out with both the boys (Atlas and Percy) running with 2 seasoned girls(Artemis and River) in bike and scooter classes and finished the season with both my boys running scooter and Arrow and Wren running bike. This April- (my pups) turned 2 yrs old. I'm super proud of how well they did this season, and can't wait to see how next season goes!!
We will be adding 2 yearlings in this fall to the team, so more fun times training. I'm unsure if they will be racing this fall, we'll see how they go, but plan to have them in the 4 and 6 dog teams this winter. Most of you all know my chuckle heads, Maverick and Goose.

So, on through the hot, humid months of summer- I'm not a fan of this weather- though it's necessary. We plan on working through some weak points to get us to a good start when the weather cools.

I was finally able to get our 1st sled run of the season in today!!! Supposed to snow another 3-6 inches tonight!! I'm so ready for it!!! Hoping to get out tomorrow with the sled as well!!!
Took the race team out yesterday with the quad to assess the trail(road). I knew it was going to get used last night and today, some alittle more than I'd like, but we were good today!!
Thank you Eric for helping us today!!!

Team 1 and Team 2.
Team 1 did amazing! Artemis/Raven lead, Wren/Atlas, team, and Percy/Arrow, wheel. Artemis is one hell of a leader and she is great at taking the yearlings out and teaching them the right things to do! The boys ran hard as normal and we're all good boys. Gave Atlas a break from leading and put Raven up front. That little girl has surprised me alot this season❤️ Wren got alittle tired and got boxes early. After taking a break, she probably could have gone further, but didn't want to push her.

Team 2- Spicy/River lead, Zaya team, and Dove /Polly wheel.
River tried very hard to do her job, but Spicy wasn't making it easy for her. Had planned to run Zaya up front, but Spicy hates Polly and wouldn't stop antagonizing her, so up front Spicy went. Dove is getting better every run and realizing wheel position isnt that bad.😉 The team ran well, there was a lot of traffic that came up with team 2. Some people were nice, some not so nice. By the end, I was was slightly frustrated and it was getting warmer, so not too many pics of team 2. I just wanted to get them in their boxes and off the road.

So these 4 will be my 4 dog team this winter(if we get any snow) They run really well with each other and I can move them all around if needed. And these 4 were my easy team today.

6 dog team, not so much😬. I feel like Spicy forgot how to run lead. Oh sure, she ran. But was directionally impaired and every stop- thought she needed to turn the team around. I was just trying to give River a break today. It was ruff, but we made it. Thank goodness Eric was following us to help. Not all runs are easy runs! But all the dogs were in good spirits at the end and that is what matters.

Last snow pics are from last weekend. Went up to McBain for a training weekend. Weather didn't cooperate for me(too warm) so we didn't get much run time in. But it was nice to hang out with great friends!!

HI All!!!! It's been awhile since I've posted on here, but figured it was time for an update!!
Fall training and race season!
We kind of had a slow start into training- so we missed the 1st -2 races we were planning on running and stayed home and trained instead. Which was the right move. We had some training events with M.U.S.H and GLSDA that was great for the yearlings.
Decided on running a 6 dog rig team and 2 dog scooter and 2 dog bike- breaking up my 4 dog team to work on leading with my yearling boys(Percy and Atlas) They have done amazing!!💜 River and Artemis have been their trainers, and have been great duos all season!
6 dog team - Piper/Raven, Wren/Polly(Dove), Arrow/Hero.
Dove and Polly kept rotating in and out to give everyone experience.
Piper was our main leader this season, with rotating the yearlings girls to run with her. Arrow normally runs lead, but was struggling this season when all the girls were coming into season, they just smelled too good😉, so he ran wheel with Hero.
We managed to placed every race- good dogs!!
Were there issues?- oh yeah- did we work through them?- the best we could - did we learn something?- everytime.
A huge thank you to my White Paw crew and all their hard work this season.
Also-a huge THANK YOU!!! To all the race crew who puts in their time, money and effort for us all to be able to race!! And to anyone who helped get me and my team to the start chute!!! Couldn't do it without you!!!💕💕

Now On to snow season!!!!(we really need some snow😬)

Last weekend at Ft. Custer.....it was a great weekend. My mentality was "organized training", all weekend. And honestly, maybe that's why it was so great, who knows, but I had entered 4 of my pups in classes. Just to familiarize them to all of it. Get some passing in, see the trail help and all the different people, busy atmosphere, everything that they would encounter at a race. I wasn't planning on placing in anything and I was going to let them run what they wanted to run, no pushing them.
They blew me away with how well they did with all of it!!
5 dog was the veteran team, Dozer/Spicy in lead. Artemis in team, Polly/Hero in wheel. Same thing as far as not pushing them. We haven't really been able to get out and train very much. Both days, clean runs- very happy with them.
3 dog- Piper/River lead and Raven(pup) in wheel. She never missed a beat, her turns were a little wide, we passed a team no problem and ended up coming in 3rd, which we held on Sunday, finishing overall in 3rd-
2 dog bike- Arrow and his daughter Wren- she was alittle unsure of all the people she seen along the trail and backed off some, but daddy pulled her though and by the end, she had no problem running by them. Finishing 5th or 4th overall, not too shabby- I also slowed them down on all the down hills(all the baby teams I did)
2 dog scooter- oh boy, this was going to be the fun class, running both boy pups - Percy and Atlas. They did so well!! Way better than I ever expected. We even passed a team!!! Which shocked the s**t out of me!! Now head on passing, no, they wanted to meet and greet. But hey, 1st race. They made most the turns, only had a few issues with that and we finished in 2nd both days! Just wow!! I was so super proud of them, all of them!!
The drive all these babies have....they all just out their heads down and just lean into their harneses..
Dove didn't race, but did two dog bike around the campgrounds with Eric and I followed with meeka and Zuri, she did great, passed cars, other dogs, passed my team, focused on the job!
A big thank you!!! To everyone who helped get my guys to the start chute!!

We got out and explored a new area!! If we get a couple inches of new snow, the roads would be great. Seasonal roads work for me!! 6 dog team had a good 6 mile run. We even added two girls for a couple miles to help with a little more team exposure. Parts of the road were fine, other parts were a little slick, and other parts...sandy, but when that's all you've got, you work with it!! Thanks Merrisa and Eric for all your help!!

Video of the Husky 3 dog team- the good, the bad and the ugly-- We all made mistakes today- figured I post so everyone can see- there's always time for learning - and I got to see where we were weak in training today - we normally don't have may water obstacles to face or undefined trails, like the Haw turn they wouldn't take. My quad is down- that's why I'm running smaller teams with the race rig.

Finally able to run the last few days in a row. Got a couple videos today, but the runs definitely didn't go as planned. Piper and Artemis completely ignored me on our haw command, got off the race rig- put them in the right direction, get back to the rig, Artemis- nope- "I want to continue straight", and ran back to where they were. Ended up doing an 180 turn to head back- then Piper said she was done with mud puddles- she literally dead stopped in front of them and said "nope". That was new today and very frustrating. With all the rain, there were alot of mud holes.
Hound team did pretty good, a little dizzy on there directions too, but at least they took them and navigated around the mud holes easily enough. Hope you enjoy some of the pics from after our run today and a few from the other night😊

I was able to get the dogs out a tiny bit this weekend. The weather sure isn't making it easy on us though.
Friday I was able to get the six pack out and do a 2 mile run- but warmed up rather quickly.
Sunday- Piper and Artemis ran 2 dog scooter. Holy bunnies!!! I think we had 5 bunnies run across our path, all at different times. The 1st one the girls ran after, but all the others, we made it by without incident.
If the weather doesn't cool down, I may only be able to work the dogs in 1, 2's and 3's. And changing my plans for fall dryland races.
