Second baby of the year is here!
This leggy c**t showed up Tuesday afternoon. He is Skittles' first c**t by Raph. I can't wait to see how he turns out, sure like what I see so far! :)

Keira foaled Thursday at 3:00 am. It's a nice big stud c**t who has been a pretty chill guy so far. She's a great mama, as always. It will be fun to see how he compares to his full brother as he grows!

I've seen this shared several times this morning, and I'll share it as well.
Not all stud owners can spend into the 5 figures annually paying into incentives. Not all mare owners can afford top tier stud fees. And not all buyers can afford (or even want) a prospect paid into every single incentive in existence.
The industry seems to be forgetting the average guy or gal. The elite are just that... elite. By definition, they are few. The majority of us are normal people doing the best we can for the love of the horses. If we get pushed out by deeper pockets, what else does that leave besides the unscrupulous backyard breeders? We need to keep viable options for the every day horse person.

Fall 2022 was the first time he'd been ridden in at least 2 years and he did great! To top it off, we did it when I hauled him to a mounted shooting competition - his first time being exposed to that - and he took it all in stride. Many thanks to my friend Jason for hopping on him :)
