Epona Equine Rescue and Rehab

Aaaand we have a website! (Ta-daaah!) It's still a work in progress, but on it you can find information about both the boarding/riding lessons side of things and our rescue and rehab operation. We also have a link to our current GoFundMe on the site. So far, the funds raised have gone towards launching this website as well as some urgent vet bills for a few of the rescue horses.

We still need to raise funds to pay for our IRS Form 1023, which is $600. Form 1023 allows us to be recognized as a tax exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit. So, as you can probably guess, it's very important!

Ultimately, between grants, donations, sponsors, and fundraising events, our goal is to be able to purchase the property that Epona has called home for the past 20 years. It's a huge undertaking, so we are asking for all of the support we can possibly muster. If you can't donate or get involved yourself, please share with your friends and family.

Thank you SO much for all of your support so far! Let's keep this momentum going, it's only just the beginning!

Harry is a 10 year old Appaloosa gelding. Yes, he is tough enough to wear pink now! He was abandoned and in such rough shape that even his spots were dull and gray. Harry was very skittish and always in flight mode. The team at EERR could see it in his eyes that he wanted to trust again. With a gentle hand and a lot of reassurance that he would not be in harm's way, Harry now walks up to you for a good scratching without fear. You are a Good Boy Harry! Willow is a very sweet 9 year old Jenny mule. She came to Epona Equine Rescue and Rehab with a injured front leg-a bowed tendon which is extremely painful. She needed the knowledge, time and rehab facility to help her heal, so EERR stepped forward and took her in. Willow has come a long way but it will take a very long time to heal. Hello everyone, and welcome to the beginnings of the nonprofit side of Epona Equestrian Center! As many of you know, Connie Sparks has dedicated her entire life to everything horse-related. From training in almost every discipline, to teaching horsemanship to students of all ages, to taking in unwanted/neglected/abused horses and giving them the treatment and care they need to thrive.

Connie has been rescuing horses for decades and, with the help of a wonderful team to serve on the board of directors, has made the decision to make her rescue work official as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. As a nonprofit, we will be doing much of the same rescue and rehabilitation work with the goal of being able to do even more! We are currently working on setting up a website as well as ways for people to sign up as supporters for our cause.

Thank you so much to all who have shown their love and support to Connie and the community at Epona Equestrian Center through the years. We are looking forward to this next adventure!
