In one of the wealthiest communities within the Megalopolis of Houston, TX, resides a handful of unfortunate dogs who are imprisoned in a Gulag known as the Bellaire Dog Pound. Spend a few minutes, an hour or a lifetime helping dogs who are being victimized by ignorance, neglect and megalomania. Our movement has more experience, expertise and resources than does City Hall, local Animal Control or
any "non-profits" combined. We have been very patient - too patient - in our attempts to have even the most fundamental exchange of ideas with folks who claim to be "Grown-Ups". As the dogs' suffering continues to escalate, with no end in sight, the pedagogues only make more speeches and spin more word salad. For well over 20 years, we residents of Bellaire, TX, and surrounding communities have been working independently, among ourselves, to avoid-at-all costs any dog entering the crime scene that is known as the Bellaire Dog Pound. We activists have found, rescued, fostered, re-untied, re-homed, adopted and provided medical treatment, for at least 1,000 dogs ... as well as 100's of other species. But for emergency circumstances wherein animal or public safety is an immediate issue, we have never asked the "City" (a tiny town of < 20,000) for any help. But our focus, our primary mission, is to mitigate the clear and present dangers, the inhumane conditions, in what is really nothing more than a 5 room doghouse. In late February, when temps were still in the 30's, we identified short-term, "simple, systemic & sustainable solutions" in anticipation of the inevitable 110+ heat indexes that arrived in May. Over the past 4 months, after over 200 one-sided communications with the powers-that-be, we've received no responses to any degree of relevance or results. Between the "Bureaucratic Silence" and the "Bromide Sophistry" (=B.S.) there has been nothing but resistance, "alternate facts" & junk science ... with a healthy dose of obfuscation and blatant lies from City Fathers and the Bellaire Police Department ) who's supposed to running the joint). As we move on to Phase 2 of the short-term strategies, we are also planning to deal with the long-term and interim challenges that are on the horizon. The dogs need your help with ACTION, no matter where you may live. Throughout our page, you'll find email addresses and other contact information for the temporary, part-time employees who are our elected officials. Our appeals to logic and decency haven't accomplished anything. Maybe a little public humiliation will pe*****te the reptilian mindset. Certainly, among them and the Bellaire Police Department, we haven't found many deep thinkers ... even fewer with any common sense or common decency. "follows" and direct communications with them will play an integral role in our overall strategy. "It's all about the dogs."
